Don't waste your time with the EMPLOYMENT SCAM offered by Platinum Services Inc. You may be throughly disappointed.

Cleverly disguised their program Works on a basic pyrimid formatted scheme. Expoloiting new individuals/agents to generate leads and sales and major revenue for a few at the top of the chain.

You are recruited as an independant insurance sales agent, totally self employed with an attractive 40% (45% at 6mos.) commission +bonuses or guaranteed 3k/month. :-D
when recruited you are led to believe that after a 2-3 week training period (on the road) with a veteran sales team you will be turned loose as an independant agent and be working with and or developing a team within your home area.

This is where the scam comes to light. You MUST:
work within the confines of their team environment
within a designated area work strickly off designated maps, and totally blanket the area,
Mark and code these maps with your client info and turn in fill in manditory appointment and contact logs with detailed info manditory turn in all of YOUR contacts and work, each day discuss missed but close sales each day

- if you don't - and wish to work as an independant from your home area as recruited you will make @ 8% commission with no chance for Bonuses/ benefits etc.

This is not an independant agent opportunity.
It is an opportunity to run around and be someone elses BirdDOG and spend your time efforts and money for the top DOGS within the company to Profit - and PROFIT THEY DO.

I suggest - Stay away from this company and the empolyment opportunity in a SALES CAREER. In that light a reasonable person would question the value of the products being PUSHED onto the ELDERLY, Farmers and Rural Homeowners across the Mid Western States.

#6 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Platinum Services, inc ---to emily or any future applicant

AUTHOR: levrmcd - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Emily,

As Lynne had said, do not waste your time with this company. They do send you to an area with few people, so the wear and tear on your vehicle in tremendous plus all the miles you will put on the vehicle...i averaged atleast 150 miles a day. Also the pyramid effect is true. A few of the larger corporate people are the ones making the legit money.

As for referels...Don't expect to receive any from your TEAM. I had trouble with sales man working in my area on the referells they had. Also my team leader KEN HIGH was a greedy man. The first week i was cut loose to start selling, i did have success but Ken worked my area after i had set appointments with people and quite frankly stole the business from under me. Then promised to give me one application for commission, which never happened.

You have to understand your going to be driving a mile in between houses, and if you don't qualify your entire map, you are going to be stuck in that area til the map is complete. So you waste a lot of time tryiing to meet one person who might not even be interested.

Lastly i had worked and sent in an application that was missing a check on a health question. They were supposed to return the application within two days, which Sherrel a platinum rep, failed to do so. They also charged me to send the application back which i never received. Now they are saying since i am no longer with the company, i am not entitled to the commission on a product i had sold a month ago while still employed. which is being reportd to the BBB.

So for any future employees, i encourage you to stay away from platinum, i will be in contact with GTL and notifying them of the problems platinum has, like the burglarys that were commited in the area i was working, related to platinum services...STAY AWAY...its a waste of time, money, and makes you want to drive to IOWA to manually straighten things out

Thank you,

Levi McDaniel, ADA OKLAHOMA

clarity on referrals

AUTHOR: Lynne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2006

You said referrals are taken from you and given to the top dogs.

Okay, I talked to the personnel manager again (the sales recruiter), and did not mention this website. I simply asked about how referrals are treated.

Each team member gets a territory or township. If we get referrals for someone's relative or friend in another township outside our own, it goes to that sales person. They in turn give me referrals for my territory. Otherwise you work your own referrals, you keep them.

That's normal. If you've sold ads or mortgages or whatever you don't step on the toes of another sales person's territory on your team or in your company.

Did you get a contradictory experience that doesn't follow with that or did you misunderstand your recruiter? I need real experiences. Please respond as soon as you can.

P.S. To Clarity

AUTHOR: Lynne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2006

Apologies, I have one more comment and question. You stated "I would question the values of a company that pushes products on the elderly".

They are tarketing Corporate Farmers only, my experience is the personnel manager specifically told me when he was recruiting me, that I was not to talk to an elderly woman or man alone about the product. It was essential to talk to family members so that questions could be covered and no misunderstanding can be given as to the intent of the sales. Plus it benefits other members who may want to sign on for other benefits themselves. They also indicate the 30 day right of recission which means our sales are not final when signed, they could cancel in 30 days.

Did you experience something contrary? What pressures don't fit with this scenario? Please tell me exactly what your experience is.

Clarity

AUTHOR: Lynne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2006

I have just accepted being hired by this company and have set up classes to get health insurance licensing. I wish to address the said hiring tactics. Please understand, I can not defend this company, I can only state my experience and request clarity on yours. It will help me because I have not yet invested the money for the licensing and classes and can still change my mind.So if you can answer these questions I can be helped and others can. As your report stands now its not as helpful to me as I would like. Here's why.

First as to your comment that "You are recruited as an independent sales agent". I was recruited to work with a team as a 1099 who can take time off if I wish. I never expected to be on my own throughout the state. Just on my own as an independent contractor.

As to territories, these are very common in most sales categories. I was told up front that I would be traveling throughout the state (that was in the ad for hire) and the expenses would be mine for hotels and gas. I would be trained by someone the first week or two but then all four (or five) of us would leave on our own from the hotel and then return each night after we visited our referrals. So I don't see this as being cleverly disguised. Its what I wanted, a team effort but with the indepence I need once I was trained to go on my own.

My question for you though that needs clarity is this. On your comment about the 3G guarantee. This is not a commision or a loan but if we don't make sales that equal $3,000 in one year, for each month we would be given (not a loan) the remaining amount. So if I made 2,000 in sales, I would get 1,000. You simply stated their promise and ended it with this symbol. :D. That's all. Please help and tell us, did they break that promise? How? Can you clarify this with something concrete? We need to know, what do you have beyond insinuations.

They do not come out and say they are a pyramid and this does concern me. I am at the in-between stage, Steve. About to take classes. Can you help me with something more concrete? Did you work for them a short time or not at all once you fund out you couldn't be on your own without a team?

And finally, the leads. I was told they would be shared among the team members. I'm not sure why. Can you expand on this?

Someone told me there was one BBB complaint that was resolved only becasue the complainer no longer responded. They ask us to sign a confidentialy form, which I did. Could they be using that? Do you know anything about that?

This will help others so please understand that my rebuttal is to make your report more informative. As it is it simply sounds like you are angry because they were not what you expected. But that may have been a misunderstanding, not a misleading. Tell us more.
