Plumbing Rescue was called by an 86 year old widow, who was sick and had a sewer stoppage.  They were called because of a $79 clear any drain advertisement.  They were unable to clear the drain and dug a 5 x 5 x 5 foot hole even thought the sewer line was only 2 feet below surface.  The technician ran a camera through the line and said that the line had collapsed and that roots had grown in it.  Cost to repair would be $8942.  They would give a discount if widow would become a Plumbing Rescue member.  With savings, the job would only be $4987.   They were told not to proceed any further because the price was outrageous.  She was made to initial a bill for $699 for work done so far.  Technician claimed the dvd was broken on machine so could not provide documentation for collapsed pipe or roots.

Tim Sexton, Channel Manager for Plumbing Rescue also stated, verbally and in writing, that if this problem was not taken care of soon, roots might grow into hom and cause a back-up, including damaging dry wall which would be much more costly. This upset the widow.

Next day, a reputable plumbing company was called.  There were no collapsed pipes or roots in drain.  This company provided a dvd of the line for documentation.  New company was upset that an open sewer line and large hole were left.  Line should have been closed before technician left.

New company cleared drain by removing a cap, closed cut sewer line and installed a clean-out, filled the hole left by Plumbing Rescue for less than $1225.

Pull The Guys License

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 30, 2012

You need to find out if the person who showed up to your home was actually a licensed plumber. If he was you can lodge a complaint against him with the state licensing board. Part of being licensed is proof that you are carrying insurance to cover incompetence. Since he left a large hole that you had to pay someone else to fill in you can make a claim against his carrier. Simply call the  state office and ask for his insurance carrier name and policy number.

I just want to say i wrote a report yesterday and same guy came out to my place and dug a HUGE hole! I, as well, had a clogged drain and it turned into a $4,000 project with pipes needing to be cleaned, yadda yadda. I believe that something should be done here - there are so many complaints about this company. I feel cheated! I had another guy come out (from same company) to fix a problem tim sexton was supposed to fix and quoted me $10,000 without even looking at the issue. I told him i had to get a 2nd opinion and $157 later - my problem was fixed! The whole company is the same - i imagine the owner lives in a huge house without a care in the world screwing people over one job at a time. Something NEEDS TO BE DONE!!

The license holder of Plumbing Rescue has agreed to remove charges against me!  I would remove the previous posting, but apparently I am not able to do that on this site.  I am holding in my hand a $0.00 balance statement.  The owner has stated that he will do a better job of supervising his employees in order to regain a positive review in the Tampa Bay area.  Thank you, Plumbing Rescue.
