For over a year I have been allowed myself to be abused by PNC Mortgage Company. I asked them a simple mortgage question, in the Fall of 2011, that could have been resolved successfully with a simple approval. I wanted them to move 1 or more of my monthly mortgage payments to the end of my amortization schedule. They told me I first had to apply, and be approved, for one of their Home Mortgage Modification Programs.

Here's a rough timeline. First, I was told to stop paying any further monthly payments until a program was approved.

Then, 3 months later, I got Certified Mail telling me that because I had failed to make my payments my loan was being placed in Default!

I wrote letters to every company executive who's address I could find. A month later, I got a call from one of those people...apologizing in behalf of the company and telling me his boss told him to handle my loan, personally.  That's the LAST time I have been able to reach him!

The process has dragged on, until now, with many delaying tactics from them.

I have tried, several times, to simply mail a mortgage payment to them. I has been returned each time.

Recently, I was told I was NOT approved because I make too much money for the debts I have.

Following that, I got a call from one of their reps suggesting that maybe we could make a deal.

She asked to to give her a summary of my income and expenses, over the phone, then told me we could not make a deal because I didn't make enough money and was too upside down!

Most recently, I got a new packet to reapply followed the next day by a letter stating that my loan had been turned over to an attorney for FORECLOSURE filing!!!!

We have lived in this house...ranch/farm, actually...for over 21 years, 20 of which have been problem free, financially speaking.

NOBODY to whom I tell this believes there could be a company who would stoop to such DECEPTION.

I am tired of being pushed around. If there's anybody out there who knows how to successfully fight and win against this practice, and this company, please let me know!!

Thank you

PNC Mortgage

In response to your emails, I wanted to update my situation. In our case, the situation got so close to Foreclosure that we felt we had to file Bankruptcy. This stopped their Foreclosure efforts and forced them to accept our monthly payments. At the end of the payment period, the mortgage will be current and will have been paid, through the court, with little or no penalties or late fees.

I did go to a local meeting, scheduled by the mortgage company, and talked to people who were explaining the steps to get the account fixed. But, this happened too late for me to trust anyone with PNC. All I can say is that, though I would previously Never have considered the B word, it has proven to have saved our home.

Predatory lenders are apparently getting a lot of negative national attention. Maybe their "time" has come. As my bankruptcy attorney best put it, those companies have a systematic way of dragging unsuspecting borrowers down a path that normally leads to Foreclosure and loss of one's home.

Please hang in there and dont' give up!

A friend

sounds a lot like us!

After reading you story I see a lot of what happened to you has been happening to us over the course of the last 3 years.

This all started when my husband at 43 yrs of age had to have an unexpected double bi-pass. I called PNC and informed them of the health issue and that we wouldn't be able to pay the next months payment and asked if we could skip that payment.  They agreed but said that we would have to make that payment up in 3 months on their payment plan.  I explained that made our payment too unreasonable and asked if it could be added to the end of the loan. They refused and stated this was our only option.

Every time we were at the 3rd month of that repayment plan, our check mysteriously would be late even though it had been mailed to them in plenty of time. We would be told that they would have to start us over on the 3 month payment plan.

Last June we were out of town and when we returned there was a notice from PNC that because we were going to be 3 months late if not paid by a certain date the would file foreclosure. The date was while we were gone so we were completely surprised.  We called PNC and they stated that it was too late, they already turned us over to their attorney.

When we called their attorney, we were told that they hadn't filed anything yet and that PNC could take it out of foreclosure. PNC stated they couldn't but the attorney could. This went round for several weeks when finally it was too late and the attorney filed.

It cost us over $8000.00 to get out of foreclosure.

This year we had to miss a payment because we were still trying to catch up on all of our other bills after having to come up with the $8000.00

PNC called us and stated they needed the money we explained our situation (AGAIN) and asked if we could pay $600.00 and then the next payment pay $638.00 which would then have us up to date. The person we spoke with stated we could.

A couple of weeks later we get a call from PNC stating they needed $1238.00 now. We stated that we had paid them $600.00 and we were told they don't except partial payments and that they sent us a reimbursement check for that $600.00 and wanted the $1238.00 now.

We explained that without the $600.00 that they were now sending back to us we could only pay them the $638.00. They stated that they don't take partial payments and that it wasn't their fault we were told that by some that works for them.

Once my husband received the check from them for $600.00 he went to our local PNC to make the payment. We were then informed that they couldn't take the money (that would have us paid up to date) because they turned us over for foreclosure again.

We've spent the last week making phone calls to PNC who tells us to call the attorney who then tells us to call PNC.  We have the money to pay, no one will take our money.

If your situation was resolved to your satisfaction, can you please tell us who to turn to so we can take care of this, we are at a loss.

Thank you!
