This company refuses to accept that this debt was resolved in 2001. I made the payments requested of me by Sears, and then received a letter saying the debt was done with. Since 2002 I've been receiving harassing calls from Portfolio Recovery demanding I pay them more for that account. They have threatened to take my mother's social security, and one even suggested I work in a brothel to pay them off. These people are walking a thin line between legal and extortion and racketeering. I've contacted their Ombudsman office and have received no response. Why are these people still in business when they follow racketeering guidelines? All of that paperwork in in a storage unit that would take me two days to get to if I had a car which I don't. Ever since they have found that out they have pretended to work with me. This last time they said there would be 14 days between calls. Not true. I've had a call a day from them and one sounded like he was calling from his living room. There was a television on in the background and he yelled at his kids to shut up while on the phone with me. If you ever get a call from them go to legal aid immediately! These people have no morals or principles.
