Below is a copy of the letter that we sent Pre-Paid Legal and received a response back saying that we not getting a refund, in basic terms. This is after we had to spend thousand of dollars on legal fees to fix the TOTAL SCREW UP by Pre-Paid Legal.
Here's a quick over of what happened We had an issue with our landlord and requested Pre-Paid Legal send a letter to him. They took three and one half weeks, yes WEEKS to send a simple three sentence letter. This caused us a tremendous about of grief. Their incompetence didn't end there. It gets much better, but that the really long part of the story where we had to send letters to them as if we were suing them just to get them to do their JOB RIGHT, and they NEVER did.
We were forced to get a REAL attorney that handled the problem in three days to our complete satisfaction. Just to give you an idea of how bad Pre-Paid Legal is the situation that is referred to above lasted for almost four months with them. We should be receiving a complete refund all membership fees, but not only are they not doing that, according to the representative that we spoke to, but they even went on to continue to charge us for additional months after we had canceled.
They have also informed us that they will not refund the additional months either as it is there policy not to do so. This is so absurd since we even showed them a copy of the cancellation letter and the fax confirmation that is was, in fact, sent to them. They are a SCAM a Completely Useless and Misleading company that dances on the law and makes a mockery of the justice system that they are able to manipulate with their ridiculous MULTI-LEVEL marketing. They are not anything more than a team of idiots selling a complete enough BAG of GARBAGE with a BOW on it and getting away with it.

Please accept this e-mail as official notification that we are requesting our account is canceled immediately and a full refund is given for this membership. On August 17th we canceled our membership, as we were told it is the policy of PPL that we were required to cancel via written notice. We did so and faxed that cancellation letter and a request for a full refund of member fees paid, as we were entirely dissatisfied with the services provided.
It appears that this request was somehow not completed on your end. We were notified from the customer service representative that we spoke with today (Lisa) we did have the option to e-mail this request. Originally, the supervisor we spoke with on 8/17 told us that we could not do this via e-mail. As the request to cancel was not logged on PPL's end - charges resumed in September for the membership we had previously canceled. Unaware that we would have to follow-up after sending this cancellation document.
We were made aware of the charges when reviewing our accountant's reconciliation work on one of our banking accounts. Please help expedite our request and contact us as soon as possible regarding this matter.

Our records indicate that we have received your request for a refund. According to the schedule of benefits for legal services stipulated in your contract, refunds are prorated for the unused portion of the membership that was paid in advance at the time we received the written request to cancel. Due to the banking industries Automatic Clearing House regulations, commonly referred to as ACH, it may take as long as 60 days to complete your refund request. As a consumer you may have up to 60 days to revoke a draft on your account. If all of the drafts are still honored at the end of the month your request for a refund will be considered. You will receive notification by mail.
