I have texting thru Verizon.  I text a few friends and relatives a month.
Last couple months I started getting these texts daily or so, that started with the
words Predicto.  I never even read the stupid things, I never responded to it, cuz I didn't sign up etc. and I don't speak spanish, etc.

Put it out of my mind.  It bothered me tho.

Then when I went to pay my bill, I've had Verizon for 10 years or so, it was really high.
I called and asked why so high. He mentioned Predicto charges, so I explained to him that I never signed up. he said

"oh it's a game and you have to sign up, and it was something you saw on TV."
Then the guy tells me how to STOP the service immediately, which I I've done.

It was by texting them at 654654 and entering the word STOP.  Which I did, and I added a few more choice words.  They said sorry to see you go.  I said #$%&*!!

He also gave me an 800 360 0518 number to call: Predicto.  I did.  I am / WAS pissed.  Can you tell ?
I told them no one uses my phone but ME. They said I signed up online. I said oh no I did not.  I am the only one on my computer also.  You work for crooks. I said. FYI.  She didn't take it personally, she knew I wasn't mad at her.  I WAS PISSED, still am.

I said maybe you noticed I no speak spanish, sorry, she took it well.  She knows it's not personal.  Predicto employee told me they have offices in New Jersey and Phillipines'.
I was pissed. I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS STUPID TEXTING GAME.  I have a life.

She said someone from corporate or something like that will call me tomorrow and discuss this.

I NEVER SIGNED UP.  NO ONE USES MY PHONE OR COMPUTER.  PERIOD.
The cost is I think 9.99 a month and maybe a little more.  It galls me.

I'll let you know if they get back to me and what lies they come up with.

Now Verizon has always been good to me, but I am a little upset with them.  Seems they should maybe do something about this, as it appears to be widespread.
