I found price shuffle on the internet as link from another site. The news was praising it as a great way to save for Christmas. After I registered I checked my account about an hour later and price shuffle had taken 149.75 out of my bank account. I called them immediately and they gave me a website to send my complaints to, so I sent them an email telling them I gave no authorization to have this money taken from my account.
 I also called my bank. The bank put the money back in but price shuffle took it out again two days later. By this time I had emailed them twice to try to rectify this problem but was not successful. I am working with the bank to have my account adjusted but I have had to close my card and wait 48 hours to be reimbursed. 

In the meantime I've tried to go back to priceshuffle.com to look for their terms and conditions and I am not able to find the site. I was however able to find other sites that have written about how they are rip off artists. 

I have other people complaints about this company and I hope you will be able to help to make others aware of their practices.

Oh..and as far as sellers go...

..PayPal is the BEST thing EVER to happen to online sellers. Unfortunately..many sellers want to operate outside of the terms and rules. Well..look at what happens when there are no rules...

NO ONE on THE ENTIRE PLANET, is forced to pay using PayPal, or buy using PayPal. It is a PRIVILEDGE, not a RIGHT.
It is simply a means to add another layer of safety. How a seller can screw this up is beyond me...but one thing is for sure..

Paypal is NOT going to offer ANY buyer protection..until the SELLER has earned trust and has displayed a length of time as an honest, ethical seller. So some sellers cry like a little girl because PayPal has held the funds for a few weeks as stated in their terms, and as they do for EVERY SINGLE SELLER who chooses upon their own free will, to use Paypal. And NO, eBay does not FORCE anyone to use it..the list of acceptable forms of payment is on the website. As well..no one is forced to use eBay either.

As I reply to EVERYONE and ANYONE who does not understand why PayPal would do this..I simply ask..do you have any better suggestions?

Does PayPal ask for fingerprints? A photo ID? DNA? A drug test?  NO..no they don't. So why should they put their asses on the line for some stranger online just because they have the ability and freedom to open an account?

Do you understand this? Or, if you do not..please tell us how PayPal should trust anyone online who opens an account. Oh wait..we can read this VERY report and see what happens when you trust someone you do not know online.

bman..whatever link you posted regarding PayPal, was redacted. So try again.

I hope you are not another one of those cry babies that is blaming PayPal due to a risky or stupid purchase of a buyer and expected PayPal to cover it?

That is NOT the intent or purpose of PayPal. AND, they are NOT a bank.

Their purpose..and ONLY purpose, is to make online transactions safer by a method of payment that will not require you to submit critical personal account information out online to an unknown seller.

Now granted they offer a buyer protection..but in THEIR own easily to read and access terms, they SUGGEST to use a credit card through them..since the banks often offer a more liberal charge back option. However, there is no substitute for being a wise shopper..and NO ONE is in business to cover anyone's a*s if they do something risky or STUPID..even insurance won't cover that.

One has to wonder...

..why a website that is going to charge a fee like this as soon as you sign up, would not have a confirmation page?

I guess they operate based on deception??

These types of "penny auctions" are very suspect. I mean it would only take a few small changes to make them legit...

One would be..confirmation page listing all charges and what they are for..like any legit website would do..

And CLEAR disclosure that the website is to be used SOLELY for GAMBLING and ENTERTAINMENT purposes only.

By deceptively charging fees, by selling "bids" which are non refundable no cash value virtual poker chips (but promoting/implying and claiming this is simply a great way to shop online and get a deal)..it seems apparent the business model is based on fraud and deception for it to work.

Now, think about the business model....what does it have in common with gambling vs a legitimate auction? Well for one...is it not in the best interests of the "house" for as many members as possible to LOSE? I would think this is the ENTIRE business model in a nutshell.

People, if you want a good deal shop around or use a legitimate auction site like eBay. If you want to gamble..play lotto and no unexpected fees will show up on your accounts. If you don't give scam sites like this your account information..you won't have to deal with the battles later on to get a refund..keep in mind..swipebids which is the same indentical thing as this..was promising refunds and having the members fill out forms and mail them and to have to keep contacting by email etc..a giant hassle..but now have informed all members they are closing down and no one is getting any more refunds. I imagine those "victims" are fuming.

I too am a victim of the company. Even I am charged with $149.75 on signing up and am in contact with the company via email. It seems we cannot talk to anybody over the phone and the phone is only for products related support. Its very frustrating to be exchanging emails. Its definitely a Rip off to be signing up. I strongly suggest the company to be advised to change their signing up process and not charge the consumers without gaining the consumers consent exclusively and warning the consumers of the charges and getting the consent before charging. Also the company should have some refund policy wherein the consumer should be allowed to return the bids and get refunds if they are not interested anymore.

Company Did Reach Out

After seeing my reports on this website, Priceshuffle did reach out to me and offered to refund my money; however, they would only agree to do so AFTER I posted a message on this site stating they had reached out to me and that no dispute had been filed.  After several emails were exchanged over the course of a week, they did finally agree to refund my money and sent me a receipt verifying the refund had been processed.

Unfortunately, the refund still has not posted to my bank account.  In order to protect myself, I finally went through my bank to dispute the charge and cancel my card.

I do appreciate that Priceshuffle reached out to me to resolve this issue.  However, if the company is truly sincere about maintaining good business practices, wouldn't it make sense for them to revise their website to make it clear that you will be charged for a bid package before you sign up?  To date, they have made no apparent changes to their site since I foolishly signed up for membership 3 weeks ago.

Many people have reported that the company reached out to them in response to the complaints they posted on this site and it's great that these customers may get their money back, but what about all the other customers who have requested their money back via customer service?  Many of us tried using that route first but did not receive a positive resolution until we reached out on consumer web sites.

Good luck to those of you who have been contacted by Priceshuffle to achieve a satisfactory resolution.  I hope Priceshuffle is sincere in their willingness to refund your money.

Price Shuffle Not Helpful in Resolving Situation

While I am happy that Price Shuffle has been willing to work with you to resolve this issue, I'm afraid I cannot say the same thing.  I have contacted them repeatedly to try to resolve this issue but they are standing firmly by their position that the terms and conditions were clearly specified on their web page and that the bids are nonrefundable.  I will be contacting my bank next to contest the charge.

I have been in contact with the company priceshuffle.com and they are willing to work with me to resolve issue and are willing to give credit to my account. I am confident that we will be able to resolve this issue. We have been emailing to each other to try to solve this situation. I am very impressed that the company priceshuffle.com has been cooperative in this issue.
