going to China in February 2013, decided to fly from Las Vegas to L.A. to catch the flight to China. My wife made a booking for round trip tickets cost 382.95 including trip insurance sounded good. problem was she booked the flight for the evening of the 12th of feb. at 8pm, however our plan left the 12th of Feb. a 1240am that day.she should have made the ticket for the 11th of Feb. at 8pm. Well we got with Priceline and they would not make the change and told my wife to call American airways, which she did.

They informed my wife that Priceline cancelled the return ticket also. to make along story short, we had to purchase two more tickets round trip for February 2013, the cost for all this was almost 800 dollars for a hour flight eachway. If Priceline would have changed the date from the 12 to the 11 of Feb and would not have cancelled my return ticket, I would be fine. this way Priceline will sell my ticket again and maybe again, who knows..........REE

382.95 and got nothing

AUTHOR: Richard - (United States of America)

1. The answer you gave me was not  in good taste and was very rude.

2. We did not cancel the flight, priceline did. they told my wife to get in touch with the airline to make the change priceline would charge 30.00 dollars and the airline would charge whatever, when my wife got in contact with the airline, she found out priceline had canceled or tickets and kept the money. AAA  re-issued new tickets and waved the fee.

3.Airline Information from Priceline Reads as the following sentence.

Need to make a change.

Tickets are non-transferable. to view the specific rules on ticket changes, cancellations, and fees for reservation please view the fare rules.

If the fare rules on your reservation allow a change, any changes to your intinery must be made prior to the dat of your departure, and will incur an airline imposed change fee. if calling priceline to modify, a 30 USD per ticket service fee will also apply. in addition, your fare may be more expensive doe to flight availability. if you do not use your tickets, and do not changes to your itinerary prior to your date of departure, your tickets will have no value and cannot be refunded or used. ( these tickets are not are not transferable, no where did it indicate non-refundable). if my wife saw that she would not purchase them, it is a red flag.

Non-refundable tickets

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

Priceline and other bargain sites sell the cheapest non-refundable tickets.   They are not the ones that restrict you from changing the dates.    The airlines are the ones that have this restriction.   Once booked, their cheapest tickets give you no recourse for changes.  They sell more expensive tickets that are changable and refundable, but those aren't usually sold on bargain websites.

Bottom line is if you want to pretend to be a travel agent, you need to be better educated in the travel business.    If a travel agent had purchased non-refundable tickets for the wrong date, they would be responsible for eating the loss.   Since you are playing at being a travel agent, now you get to eat the loss.
