it all started when i received a call on my cell phone from a sales representative stating that i was approved for a guaranteed mastercard with a $1,000 credit limit. all i had to do was pay a one time fee of $187 which would be applied to my account. i was to receive my card within 15 days.
i later received a call stating that i was not actually approved, it was just an application which took up to 4 months to process. i then told them that i was not interested and i did not want to proceed. immediatly i knew that the $187 was to be applied to my checking act. and not the credit act.
i was told i had to call customer service and cancel the transaction. however when i called, the rep. told me it was to late. but because i dont have $187 to give away, instead i have paid over $100 due to insufficient funds and stop payment fees.
First National should be proud. They have managed to create a company that has absolutly NO INTEGRITY WHAT SO EVER.

I had a similar problem with Providian Visa. I didn't file for unemployment benifites until I had been off work for 6 months I told them the truth I forgot I had it, Well they denied me cut my card off without my knowledge. I was livid so what I did. I got on the net retreived all the corporates management and sat on the net and printed all address for all instutions that had to do with banking, and some news media. I sent out all in all about 30 letters.I ccd all of Providian and to everyone I sent it too. I received responces back from almost all of them, But here's the kicker the DA from San Francisco call and took my case. It only took about 3 months they credited my account a good amount. Let everyone know the problem not just the net.

CHANGE ALL ACCOUNT NUMBERS! HIT THEM WITH A "STOP PAYMENT!"

Kimshasa, change your checking account number. If they have gotten a hold of your $187 already, put a "STOP PAYMENT" on that tomorrow. I know it might cost you a $20 fee at your bank, but it is still cheaper than the payment made to Prime One. It might be too late, but there are still other options here.
Change your credit card number as well. Treat it like theft. Tell your bank in person, that this business is not practicing with integrity, and is POSSIBLY BREAKING FEDERAL LAW.
It is against FEDERAL LAW for credit card companies to charge you an "Application Fee". There is not supposed to be ANY FEE OF ANY KIND, when you apply for a credit card. Tell this to your bank, they will know the detail on those laws and guidelines. Maybe your bank will give you a break, if they do not want to associate themselves with illegal practices.
Show them a copy of your Rip-off Report and direct them to this site. I'm glad you told Prime One. Let them provide an explanation for a change.
Desiree, try for a refund, and see if you can get your bank to cooperate as well. You have possibly been a victim of a serious fraud, see where your own bank stands in either discouraging illegal practices or endorsing them. Your bank just might help you, if you alert them to the situation. They might have pointers or can give you some kind of break.
We have an estimated 287 Reports here. See if they are interested in researching to prevent other bank account holders from being victimized.
I'll be back with more information, as I receive it.
