Saw this company's product on the Internet advertising free trial sample with small shipping and handling fee, less than $5.00. Advertisement says product will produce results in 14 days. Received a confirmation email that product would arrive within 4 days and in BOLD print stated if it did not arrive in the 4 days, to call their number and their customer representative would gladly extend your trial period. Got to be honest, up to that point I had their number and confirmation of my order, it was all I was concerned with.
Three weeks later, I received my bank statement and could not figure out why it was overdrawn. These people had gone into my account and taken $89.34, the cost of my 30 day FREE trial supply! I was able to retrieve my confirmation email and was kind of shocked when I read alittle further down the letter. Right after their BOLDed statement about nonreceipt, there is the added little statement that unless you call to cancel, they will bill $89.34 to the card you provided. Then in the next little paragraph it adds that for your convenience, they will automatically ship a new supply every 30 days unless to ask them to stop.
I called their number this am and the woman seemed shocked that I would be upset with them. At first I only said I wished to cancel every connection I had with their company. She said she was happy to do that, but I seemed upset. I told her how as far as I was concerned a free trial is just that a free trial. The story I got from her was that they have such a wonderful product, that they just knew I would love it. I asked what if I hadn't used it for the 14 days yet or if I didn't get the results I had hoped for.
Well, I should have called and got an extension like the letter said. I told her they were false advertising; a free trial is a free trial. If you like the product, then you call them back and reorder. She told me they have thousands of clients, she had 5 calls in queue (people wanting to reorder according to her). I told her I couldn't believe $89.34 for a little free trial bottle. She told me it was a month's supply in that little bottle and they just can't give it away.
Anyway, she said she would cancel my account and give me a refund of my $89.34. BUT when I told her they should change their advertising and might make my friends aware of their "promotion", she got REALLY UGLY and said "I offered you your money back, but forget it!" I tried to explain and she said "This is ridiculous and hung up!
