Do not trust Protective Security Services. Who are these people anyway? The installer who came to our home didn't have a business card, photo ID or even TOOLS! He was driving a knoced-up personal car without company ID. This from a company that I am suppose to trust my valuables. What's more we have yet to see a license, business or technical or a work permit. All required in CT for a certificate of occupancy.
Protective claim they did the pre-wiring...but it not even close to being viable. In addition, most of the fixtures hubs were in the wrong places. We foolishly paid in full for the security equipment, and now they are refussing to give us even a partial refund...we were trying to agreeable....but really we deserve every penny back.
When we tried to speak rationally and professionally with the "President" of the company, Paul Allen, he gave us the flim-flam responses of a con man who is trying to justify taking your money. He is even threatening to "go after us" for the 3 years of monitoring fees we agreed to "in our contract". The two lawers, I've spoken with say there is no contract without satisfactory completion of installation...but Mr. Allen keeps on saying we owe them money.
We had to have the work completed by ADT...who I might add showed up in two commercial vans with lots of equipment and tools, ADT shirts with photo ID badges. More important. They did a beautiful installation, completed the non-working wiring from Protective, and put the right fixtures in the right places. In additon, we feel secure and safe knowing that a top notch highly professional company is monitoring our home.
We have fliled a complaint with the Better Business Buraeu of New England and will go to Small Claims court...just because we don't want to see these shady business people get away with anyone's money.

"The installer who came to our home didn't have business card, photo ID or even TOOLS! He was driving a knocked up personal car without company ID..."
The warning signs were right there in front of your face that maybe something wasn't right. Do you know whether or not this guy stole the burglar alarm system he was going to try to install in your home?
The warning signs were right there in front of your face!
So why did you buy anything from someone you didn't trust?
How did he install the "Hubs" or "fixtures hubs" or anything else without tools?
I would have told the guy to leave and then I would have called a reputable company. Unless you were trying to get something for nothing or on the cheap.
You get what you pay for --or maybe you want to pay less and end up paying much more than you bargained for...

CALL THE STATE AGENCY THAT LICENSES PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCIES AND REPORT HIM

IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THESE PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS WITHOUT BEING LICENSED BY THE STATES IN WHICH THEY PERFORM THEIR SECURITY SERVICES.
YOU NEED TO FIND OUT WHICH STATE AGENCY LICENSES PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES IN YOUR STATE AND REPORT HIM AND FILE A COMPLAINT. HE WILL GET FINED AND MAYBE JAIL TIME.
DO WHAT I DO WHEN SOMEONE SENDS ME A BILL AND I HAVE NOT ORDERED THE MERCHANDISE OR WHATEVER... I TOSS IT.
THE HELL WITH THIS GUY. HE IS A CROOK AND A CON MAN.
