publishamerica just recently sent me two royalty statements, for both of my novels Sworn not to betray and A silent killer within. Neither statement had a complete breakdown as stated in contract, in regard to sales. They said we could request a complete breakdown statement if so desired. I've done such and they have yet to respond! This recent royalty period was the second for Sworn not to betray and the first for A silent killer within. They claim A silent killer within sold no copies during this latest six month royalty period, which is very much in contradiction to me having knowledge of a personal friend in Washington D.C. who purchased a copy of both novels, very much in time of the royalty cut off date... They also claim Sworn not betray hasn't reached the required $49:00 dollar percentage author sales amount for me to begin recieving author royalties. At the end of the first royalty period for Sworn not to betray. My author percentage was $27:00 dollars and some change.
During the next six months leading up to this recent royalty period I know folks who have purchased copies on Amazon of Sworn not to betray. They refuse to send me a detailed breakdown of sales for Sworn not to betray letting me know, how far I'm am from reaching the required $49:00 dollar percentage, so that I can begin recieving due royalties for Sworn not to betray. If the book wasn't selling? why does Amazon keep adding new copies of the novel, to their in stock collection. They Amazon has since the release of Sworn not to betray, Janurary 3rd 2011. Also if the book is selling why is publishamerica keeping the retail price at $24:95. It doesn't make sense to me. I have a major book signing coming up here in my hometown of Cincinnati Ohio, March 27th at Joseph beth- book sellers, I've sent a press release to publishamerica, they refuse to respond to anything! publishamerica thinks people are just completely stupid and desperate.
One excuse they keep using they have thirty to ninety days to recieve sales statements from stores, from time of purchase of any novels written by publishamerica authors. So every six months they you a statement saying your novel haven't met the required $49:00 author sales percentage, in order for the author to recieve their due royalties, or another excuse is your novel had no sales during six month royalty period. The last is they haven't collected the payment from the retailers where your book was sold. I don't understand why they are continously being to take advantage of folks, who are trying to just make something of their lives, bring joy to others fulfill their dreams. Thanks very much! National consumer, with god on my side I'm not going to sit idle and let publishamerica take advantage of me and the hardwork that went into me writing both Sworn not to betray and A silent killer within.
