Just because a guy drives around in a white truck thier last name plastered on the side doors DOES NOT make them a legit and honest contractor or business person.

Mistake #1 - (Avoiding the warning signs prior to hiring)
Recently, I happened to see their yard sign on the front lawn of a job where they were installing a concrete patio, similar to the one that was already installed in my backyard.  Certain types of concrete patios require that you power wash and reseal them every few years in order to maintain their luster appearance so, I approached the owner Tony Purrazzello of Purrazzello & Son, LLC and asked if he could put me on his schedule to do the work.   After taking a look at my project he said "sure, no problem I will be there next Saturday and could do it for $450.00".  Just like another review that I have read about them indicated, they don't always provide you with paperwork that states (what they will do how they will do it, when they will do it and is there a workmanship guarantee).   That Saturday came and went and Mr. Purrazzello was a NO SHOW.  The next day when I called the number on his business card I got his voicemail, so I left a message to inquire about the missed appointment.    After a few days, he finally called back and said "oh sorry I just plumb forgot" but then indicated that he could stop by sometime during the week to take care of it if I still wanted him to.   My gut instinct was telling me that I should pass on this guy because A) "he just plumb forgot" B) it took him a few days to return my voicemail and C) he never took the time to write up an estimate or contract for the work.   After all, isn't that one of the reasons why they are called contractors?    Though very reluctant and a little skeptical at this point, I decided to give Mr. Purrazzello the benefit of the doubt and what a BIG MISTAKE that was!!

Mistake #2 - (Being naive in thinking they would be competent enough to do a good job)
One would think that power washing and resealing a Stamped Concrete patio should be simple for someone who claims to be an experienced professional however; further research shows that there is a little bit of science involved.   First, when concrete is wet on a HOT day, it dries by releasing steam or vapors up through its pores until it is completely dry.   It doesn't take a scientist to know that if one tries to SEAL over WET CONCRETE pores on a hot day, the sealant will create bubbles on the surface as the moisture-vapor pressure is still trying to escape.  In addition to that, it also creates a HORRIBLE, DISCOLORED and sort of a Efflorescence look on the surface.   THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MY PATIO LOOKS LIKE NOW!!

Mistake #3 - (Trusting that they would be honest enough to admit thier mistake)
Apparently, this is how the problem occurred; Mr. Purrazzello came out on day 1 to power wash the deck.  As he was finishing up he called me at work and explained that it was starting to rain and that he would try to come by on the next day to seal it.  Overnight, it rained a TON but none-the-less Mr. Purrazzello came out the next morning and sealed over concrete which was apparently NOT completely dry. What was more shocking than how the job turned out, was that when I pointed this out to Mr. Purrazzello his first reaction was "I don't see anything wrong; it looks just fine to me" AND HE IMMEDIATELY DEMANDED THAT I PAY HIM IN CASH!   After expressing to him my disgust about the whole situation and what I thought happened he did admit that he saw the issue as he began to seal it but thought that the problem would be solved if he applied a few more coats of sealant.  WRONG!!  That was not the case and according to some other experts that I have since been in contact with they indicate that fixing the issue is a very tedious process that could cost upwards of 2-3K (which is about half of what it would cost to get a new patio poured)

Mistake #4 - (Not doing a thorough Background, Character and Integrity check)
None-the-less, Mr. Tony Purrazzello of Purrazzello and Son, LLC insisted that I pay him CASH for his BOTCHED and SHODDY WORK!   When told him that I refused to do so until he fixes the problem that he caused HE BECAME VERY BELIGERANT and EVEN SHOUTED OUT RACIAL SLURRES at me as he jumped back in his truck and drove away.

IN- SUMMARY
My best advice would be if you do decide to roll the Dice with PURRZZELLO & SON, LLC CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION please protect yourself by 1) Getting a written, signed and detailed estimate/contract that includes a workmanship guarantee. 2) Ask for a hard copy of their License and insurance for your records and 3) Ask for a list of references of past customers that you can speak to. and 4) Read their past reviews.   All of which I did not do in advance!!   Otherwise, STEAR CLEAR OF TONY PURRZZELLO & SON, LLC
