RALPHS store # 165 Woodruff & Del amo blvd. is the worst place to work for if you have bill's to pay, christmas gift's to buy and even RX medication, that you must have!

I worked 57 hour's my first week and 47 hour's the next plus 8 hour's at an interviewand now 3 week's later they still don't have a paycheck for me ! The weekend of Christmas and I need to buy gift's,I have bill's to be payed and I also need to get my son his RX Medication; I told my manager & the manager of the store... "Oh, well you'll get a check next week !" was the only responce I got.

With it being Christmas weekend the payroll/HR department & headquarters is closed, so calling them got me nowhere RALPH is resopnsable for ruining my family's Christmas, late charge's on my bill's and anything that may happen to my son until Ralphs gets me my paycheck.

Ralph's does not care about there employee's need's, but what there employee's can do to care for there needs.

you shouldn't have to be the one to suffer for the possible mistakes of your employer

I sympathize with your problems, especially with the late charges. It would be easy to reproach such problems with platitudes like "you should keep money in savings so that missing a paycheck won't cripple you" but the fact is that many families do depend on weekly paychecks just to keep going, let alone build up savings.

Sometimes bill companies will waive late fees and similar charges if you explain your situation with them. Perhaps if your employers are understanding, they might even write a letter for you explaining that their slowness in paying you played an important part in making you late. It would be nice if they reimburse you for your losses, but -- snicker -- yeah, right.

I work for a school district that on January 1 rolled out a new computerized payroll system that was full of unfixed glitches and software problems. As a result, thousands of employees went for months receiving checks that severely shortchanged them for hours worked (example, you're expecting a monthly paycheck to the tune of $2500, but receive only $1250), or worse, did not receive a check at all. I personally know one gentleman who didn't receive a paycheck for three months straight, and yet there he was, showing up for work day after day. I found out that he had borrowed money from his family to cover his debts, and several other employees including myself donated money to help him out.

Nearly a year after the new payroll system was introduced, many people still have unresolved pay issues relating to it.

I mean, Ralphs, school district, NASA, whatever it is, if you work there, you expect to be paid, end of story. Nobody who busts his hump all week wants to hear at the end of it that he "will get a paycheck next week" even though he rightfully needs to be paid THIS week, just because the managers couldn't get their act together.

Always in these situations, there's a close to 100% probability that the management and other bureaucrats working in the main office will see THEIR paychecks, accurate to the minute, including overtime.

Meanwhile the grunts basically get spat on and are asked to call it ice cream.

There are two reasons why your check may not have come in.
1.The most common problem I have had is that employees have not filled out tax forms or applications correctly,or have been missing paperwork. You could have requested a pay advance..the store cannot not pay you for working.
2.It being right before Christmas, the HR staff is overloaded processing last min paperwork for the end of the year. It's easy for one application to get lost in the pile when you are doing work that involves 200 stores or more.
Kroger wasn't trying to ruin Christmas for your kids, and trust me,your managers want you to be a happy employee who will continue to come to work.
