I wish I had Never entered the doors of Regency Furniture! I placed a bed and mattress on hold at Regency and paid the required percentage down. I was told by the sales associate, who assisted me, that all I needed to do after that point was to call and let him know when I would like to pick up item and item would be ready even if I wanted to pay off balance the day of pick-up. Two months later, on a Wednesday, I call and inform the customer service rep that I wanted to pay off balance and pick item up on Saturday. She proceeds to tell me that once I pay off balance, they would have to order the item because it wasn't in the store. She stated that items are only ordered after payment. I explained what the sales associate told me and that I had made arrangements based on that. She said unfortunately, that wasn't true.
I go up to the store to request a refund. First, I explained the situation to the manager that was sitting behind the desk, then Ahmad (another manager) jumped in the discussion and was completely rude, telling me, or more like yelling that he would not give me a refund and when I tried re-explaining to him the different information his employees were telling me, he talked over me and continued to loudly say, he isn't authorizing any refunds and that the bed was in the store if I wanted to pick it up now. I WONDER HOW DID THE ITEM GET TO THE STORE IN A MATTER OF MINUTES! I proceeded to tell him, that I just wanted a refund and his nasty attitude was what sealed the deal in me not wanting to do any business with that company. He said well he was only authorizing a store credit, which is basically a note in the system saying customer has store credit! No credit issued on a gift card or anything! just the system! How easily can that be erased!
I'm completely frustrated and definitely put off by Regency Furniture who would actually hire someone like Ahmad and put him in the position of manager! He has absolutely no CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! He is rude, loud and talks down to customers who try to resolve things in a civilized way. A waste of time with him. I left the store feeling extremely disgusted with Ahmad's lack of professionalism, his nasty attitude and his total disregard of customers and their concerns. I decided I didn't even want the item. Went home, cooled off and decided, try one more time, Big mistake!
I actually called the store again (like an idiot) the next day to schedule a pick-up and pay off balance and was informed that item was not there! Why am I not surprised! Why is it that customer service, sales associates and the mangers are never on one accord, all say and give different statements! Something told me to check out the complaints against this company and shockingly so, they had MANY, especially regarding the manager Ahmad! I seriously wished I had looked up this company first before walking through their doors, if I had, I would have immediately turned around! Now based on what I've read from other customers, my next issue will be to see if they will actually honor my store credit or will there be some hidden fees or agenda in that! NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO ANY BUSINESS WITH REGENCY FURNITURE AS LONG AS THEIR PRACTICES REMAIN THE SAME AND DEFINITELY NOT AS LONG AS AHMAD IS THERE!
