AS I DROVE MY NEW RV FOR SAFETY INSPECTION, INSPECTOR'S FIRST WORDS,(NO GREETINGS), "YOUR RV JUST FAILED INSPECTION, FOR NO 'DAY RUNNING' LIGHTS".  THIS IS NEW RV NEVER BEEN REGISTERED. THE RV IS EQUIPED WITH AN "OFF/ON" SWITCH.  I WAS GETTING ACCUSTOM TO THE THE RV AND PROBABLY ACCIDENTLY TURN THEM OFF WHEN I DROVE UP FOR INSPECTION.  INSPECT ADVISE THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL A BY-PASS SWITCH SO "DAY RUNNING LIGHTS" WOULD BE ON AT ALL TIMES.  COST WOULD BE CIRCA $300 - $500.  i DROVE TO A DIFFERENT INSPECTION STATION IN WHICH THE INSPECTION PASSED.

REINES, IS KNOWN TO TREAT CUSTOMERS DIFFERENTLY IF ONE DID NOT PURCHASE RV FROM THEM.  A RELIABLE SOURCE, HAD MENTIONED THAT AT ONE TIME, THEY WOULD NOT INSPECT RV IF IT WAS NOT PURCHASE THERE.  NOT SURE IF THIS IS HEAR SAY.

MY COMPLAIN WHY REINES FAILED MY RV AND ANOTHER INSPECTION PASED IT.
THANKS

This 1940 company, the thinking sell and take care of that person, once off the lot it's there's.
You are different you got to have deep pockets to buy at Reines RV. Mr. Reines is the fair man I know. but the part and back area has just run away with cost lost order and just plan no knowledge. The store want woman to sell the Idem but can no stock, Brad now gone hired girl friend from NY. Well the down hill from there the person Jim that had his own business in RV Family could never get to the computer age, and the other Jim was a azzh-le to say the least. wal-mart selling same toilet paper cheaper same name yet like a boat people in RV are funny to watch. The one thinks your a hardware, store Like J.E Rice another great store. Reines is not and can not be the over head cost are very high they can sell you a camper, trailer , RV 10,000 less if it was not for the part store, and there repair area, unlike Car dealers there monies in the repair business, not selling cars or trucks, now used car's sell great to if there no problem, never buy used in PW county Manassas Park, or Manassas. Setting the record straight - Reines RV Center

We are sorry Joe was unhappy that his RV failed Virginia inspection but want him and everyone else with a an RV in Virginia to know that we were following the law. If another company gave him an inspection sticker, that company wasn't following Virginia law.  If anyone wants to confirm this, they can contact the Virginia state police for a copy of the notice.

The law in Virginia is different from that in most other states.  The fog lights have to be wired into the marker lights.  And, if a motorhome has a 4 headlight system, there cannot be 6 lights on at the same time.  The fog lights and the tail lights have to come on at the same time.  The cost to wire the lights to comply with the law is $160 including tax. We have done this job many times and have never charged anything other than $160 total, so we don't know where Joe got the $300 - $500 figures.  If it's a new RV, many manufacturers, including Winnebago,  will re-imburse the customer for this charge, so it ends up costing them nothing.

We inspect anyone's RV, whether they have purchased it here or not.  We have never turned anyone away for inspection for any reason, except if the RV is too large to fit into one of our service bays.  And we never fail anyone's RV before they pull their vehicle into a service bay, so it's hard to understand why Joe said that the inspector failed his vehicle as soon as he drove up.  And, the inspector would have had to had some conversation with Joe as he asked him to pull his RV into the service bay.

The first person to greet a customer in the service department is a service writer, not an inspector.  The service writer should have greeted Joe in a pleasant manner, but if not, we apologize. Customer service is most important to us and we hope all of our customers have a pleasant experience while here.  We have been family owned and operated since 1946 and our relationships with our customers are of primary importance to us.  We have had many, many repeat customers through the years.

We urge Joe to have his lights corrected, so he won't risk being stopped by the police.
