Remax of Midlands Brian Baucom, agent LAZY, DO-NOTHING WASTE OF TIME, RIPOFF Columbia South Carolina

 Brian is the laziest, biggest ripoff of an agent I have ever dealt with, and I've sold over 10 homes!

When I hired him, I had no idea of how lazy & underhanded he was. 

When my home was 1st listed, he actually had me taking all the calls of perspective clients and doing all the scheduling for showings. After 1 week of this, I called him & said that I would not do this anymore. He then agreed to start to do his "job".

My home is in perfect condition, and totally renovated, it sold itself. In about 2 weeks, I received an offer, and did not realize that brian DID NOT check her credit or what type of loan she needed. the nightmare continues...

the perspective buyer's credit was never checked, and I was never told that she needed a government grant to buy the home! 4 times the closing was scheduled & deelayed, only to find out that the county did not have the needed paperwork.

in the meantime, I spent a small fortune traveling out of state to view & buy a home, ( not to mention the total inconvenience for nothing) thinking that the transaction was done. It cost me over $ 1000.00 to rent a car, stay at a less than nice hotel, not to mention the 16 hour drive each way. I spent 3 grueling days looking at over 50 homes, until I found 2 to choose from. I also hadmy future home(s) inspected and appraised to the tune of well over $1500.

When I returned home I was informed that the closing was delayed again! This cost me the money, time, aggravation, and I ended up losing 2 homes that I wanted to purchase. I was pre-approved (as any good agent would be sure of), but couldn't move on this home, due to the utter incompetence of brian.

I had to be on him ( several emails, texts, phone calls, etc., just to get some "action". To get the various inspections done, or nothing would have happened, and the home still would not be sold!

Brian never returned calls, or if he did it was several days later, while my life is on hold. He was rigid on not giving me any discount at all..including just a few dollars to help me out!

Overall, this was the worst home-selling experience of my entire life. Also, hisnonchalont attitude made things worse. He just doesn't get it!

Do yourself a favor, and NEVER use this person to sell or buy a home.

There is much more to the fiasco, but I think you get the idea. It was a living hell going through this!

Overall, this process took 5 months, and should have taken a month or 2. While the home was "under contract", several buyers were very interested in the home, and it could have been sold immeddiately.

Due to his incompetence, I am now stuck here for another year or or so

This process has been a total nightmare, and extremely stressful.
