I bought the model RM1635W electric chain saw. After a few day's use, the saw seized up.

I was careful to keep oil in the chain oiler reservoir and not allow the chain to be too tight. I disassembled the saw to determine why it seized. There is (or was) a bearing on the motor shaft that failed because it receives no lubrication. Most of the bearing rollers fell out and those left over damaged the motor shaft. This is was not a sealed bearing. The bearing rollers ride directly on the motor shaft!

The warranty dept. at Remington said the bearing failed because the chain was too tight.

The tightness of the chain has no connection to the stress on the bearing! The bearing failed because of poor product design. The bearing should have been an enclosed, sealed bearing! They will not cover the saw under warranty!

In addition, a replacement bearing is not even available any more! The saw is useless!! I wasted $75 on a piece of junk.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER REMINGTON or MTD PRODUCT!

You are making a lot of assumptions with your accusations. I did notify them immediately. I took it to an authorized warranty center, who then contacted Remington. If you had the least understanding of how the saw is designed, you would see it differently.

Unless you brought it to their attention IMMEDIATLY then they are going to consider it FRAUD!!! While understandable to be upset, THEY only have YOUR WORD that the installers did indeed cause the damage. It is NOT outside of the realm of impossibility that YOU damaged it in order to either get someting for FREE or to have the work done and DEMAND a refund. Thereby screwing THEM over. in THIS instance it was the delay that is causing them to ignore you. YOU waited, so THEY are going to assume that YOU are just attempting fraud.
