We were contacted by phone about selling our timeshare by tony. The timeshare was going to be sold for 16,000.00. We had to pay the adveristing fee of 2,494.00 which he ask for from a credit card. This was September 21, 2012.when we call him every couple of weeks he would say he was working on it. In the beginning we told it would take about three months. He sent all the paperwork, which we complete and sent back to him. We even ask  him did we need to go ahead and pay the upcoming maintenance fee, he said they would take care of it. Now we cannot get in touch with him. We are only getting a voicemail recording. Today date is June 11,2013.

That Company is now closed!

AUTHOR: Safe - ()

The company you are refering to has since been raided and shut down due to a civil suit. Accounts were frozen and some assets were seized. Your money is gone, the timeshare will never be sold, and you're still on the hook for any and all maintenance fees. Your better off just giving it back to the resort! There may be a class action law suit in place that I'm unaware of, that may be your only course of action now because the phone will just ring off the hook, or send you to a voicemail, until the phone company shuts off the service due to lack of payment.

Sorry for your loss!

Timeshare Resale Scams

AUTHOR: SBrittany - ()

Timeshare resale scammers target people who advertise their units for sale. Actually, there are tens of millions of dollars being bilked from people who are trying to unload their properties because they need the money. Next time, never pay a large upfront fee to sell your timeshare, otherwise you'll be scammed. These are good articles from Mexican Timeshare Solutions on how to proceed legally against a timeshare scam: http://www.timesharescam.com/
