My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee wouldn't start since the key was no longer recognized by the onboard computer.  I was told by the dealer that I would need to have my vehicle towed in to the dealership to make a new key.  That was a big enough problem - towing a disabled vehicle simply to have a key made.

I had it towed in and had a key made for an absolutely ridiculous fee of $234.  When the Jeep was handed over to me to drive home 5 days later, I was nearly hit by traffic as I attempted to leave the property.  The brakes just did not work.

I immediately turned around and confronted the service team manager who handled my case and he denied everything to the ends of the world.  I was told that I would have to pay nearly $600 to fix the problem created at the dealership.  My brakes and everything else on the vehicle were working perfectly fine at the time it was delivered to the lame dealer.

In the end, I had to slowly limp my vehicle home with flashers on, so I wouldn't be killed or kill any other drivers on the road.  I chose not to be raped by this lying, theiving dealer and to have repairs done elsewhere.  Trash like them desperately need to be exposed.

A vehicle taken in for service should clearly be returned in equal or better conditon after being gouged financially.  What a big disappointement on top of having my intelligence insulted by the employee.

I have contacted 3 local news media stations in hopes that their investigative team(s) would contact me in hopes to expose these fraudulent liars and let the rest of the community know of their theiving, deceptive, fraudulent practices.  None have returned my request yet.

Hopefully tomorrow, I can slowly limp the vehicle home without any significant incident or injury to myself or other motorists as I decide how to take care of the problem which I can not afford.

If any of the media members are deriving advertising revenue from them, they will NOT do anything for you.  What you are going to need to do is have the problem evaluated by an INDEPENDENT mechanic...someone who has their own shop and NOT another dealer.  As you have seen, the fraud and deception of the Sleazy American Car Business is also in the service department.  Whomever evalutes the problem needs to give you a cause and be willing to testify for you in small claims court.  Another possibility is to see if your insurance company can help you.  I've seen a number of these cases and if I was representing the dealer, the defense would be its a 1999 car, probably built in 1998 and at this age brake problems as well as others can manifest themselves very quickly, which will bring it down to your word against theirs...unless...you had somebody do brake work on that car a reasonable amount of time BEFORE you took it to them for the key problem and they are willing to testify on your behalf.
