The only reason I bought a Ridgid power drill for 300 dollars instead of another brand for 50, was because of the lifetime warranty. It wasn't 6 months down the road when I find out they cancelled that program, and in effect even cancelled their promise to everyone they sold tools to. I have read many other peoples complaints about this, so I won't bore you. What I would like to do, is see if I can get enough of a response to proceed with a class action lawsuit against Ridgid, and also Home Depot as they own Ridgid, and are responsible for providing their clerks with the false information about a lifetime warranty with a battery exchange box  right in their store, that disappeared a few months after this so called lifetime warranty was offered. It is time to send a clear message to corporate America that they will pay for their transgressions.

Ridgid won't honor warranty to me either

AUTHOR: Dash - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, April 02, 2014

If there is a class action lawsuit against Ridgid Tools for not honoring their warranty count me in. As you can find all over the internet, I too, purchased an expensive Ridgid 24V cordless drill, the deciding factor to purchase was because of the warranty which Home Depot/Ridgid Tools advertised, applies "Even Too Batteries!"

I've taken excellent care of the drill but the batteries no longer hold a charge. I took it to Home Depot on Jefferson Street in Los Angeles and after they had it three months, they told me Ridgid no longer makes 24V batteries therefore there's nothing they can do about it.

I called Rigid Tools and they were able to quickly look up on their computer and acknowledge that I did in fact register my tools. They had the date of purchase, location of purchase and amount of sale along with my name, address, and e-mail. Then they told me, "We're sorry but we don't have the original receipt so the warranty is not valid." I argued, "I sent you the receipt. How else would you have all my purchase information?" They replied, "Sorry." I told them I would send them a copy of the receipt along with current pictures of the tool which looks like new. Again, they said no, no warranty.

Fraud

AUTHOR: Butch - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, December 30, 2012

I registered my Lifetime Service Agreement for a Ridgid battery operated drill.  The company
failed to honor the agreement, saying I had not registered. Last week, 12/22/12 I sent a copy of the paperwork I had submitted.  They still failed to honor their agreement.  I have a letter from Nancy Korn to that effect.

I've had four defective 18 volt Lithium-ion batteries.

I will never purchase another Ridgid tool again.  I am boycotting Home Depot as well.

Ridge Tools

AUTHOR: Ryan - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 22, 2011

The current ridge warranty on drills is a life time service agreement. For it to work you have to register the tool. If something goes wrong you take your tool and as much info as possible to your local authorized ridge repair center. If there is a problem with the tool that is not wear and tear they will fix it.

I deal with people who use ridge tool all the time and most people and happy with their performance.

Count Me In !

AUTHOR: IntegrityBuilders - (USA)

I, too, have experienced the disappointment of the LSA promoted by Home Depot on behalf of Ridgid tools.  I have always used 'Contractor Grade' tools previously; but, was lulled into a False Sense Of Security with what seemed to be a legit Lifetime Warranty.  IT IS BOGUS !!

I won't go into extended details, and also realize that the only individuals that 'profit' from Class Action Litigation are the attorneys; HOWEVER, Ridgid & Home Depot need to be taught a lesson.

I would be more than happy to participate as a Plaintiff in a Class Action suit as a result of their [BOGUS] Lifetime Agreement.  Someone merely needs to tell me "where to sign" ....
