Home Depot's salesmen push their housebrand "Ridgid" power tools by touting the "Lifetime Warranty", but they never warn you that you must rush home and go on line and register the purchase on the Ridgid web site to get that warranty. I have a kit full of their 12V rechargeble tools, and just use them on small crafts in my garage. And I have bought 4 extra batteries, and my wife and kids have been giving me new accessories to add to the kit for Christmas and Fathers Day gifts, thereby inadvertantly trapping me to stay with this set that I should have just thrown away. They look brand spanking new and are hardly used. But it seems that every time I go to use the tools, one of the batteries has failed and I must throw it out and go buy another, because when I started this kit I did not know that I had to register each purchase to get the gurantee. I hate to throw out a hazardous Li-Ion battery that cost more then the tool and that was supposedly guaranteed for life just because I got tricked by the "you didn't register it" scam. I thought Home Deopot was better than this. Lowes does not pull this crap with their Kobalt tools, or let their customers get ripped off like this.
