Roger R Compton Attorney At Law WORTHLESS Fayetteville North Carolina

Mr. Compton is a worthless waste of money and gives credence to the sterotypical d****ebag lawyer persona. For ease I will bullet point the main areas he failed in:

• He "negotiated" a temporary child support and spousal support agreement with the opposing party and his lawyer. But when the order was drafted it only included the child support part of payment. He explained to me that we were relying on my ex's PROMISE to pay me the agreed upon amount of spousal support. Guess how much I received from him???? Exactly ZERO DOLLARS.

• He billed me on several occasions for services not rendered, calls never made and once for a bounced email that bounced because HIS staff spelled the address incorrectly. He even tried to bill me for the call I made to his office to dispute those charges. UNBELIEVABLE!

• I showed up to court more than once for trials/hearings that had been postponed because he never informed me of the schedule change. I had to find out from my ex's attorney who saw me wandering around the courthouse aimlessly. Imagine the embarrassment I felt for being the stupid one to hire Mr. Compton.

• My ex had the courts order me to an emergency drug test the very next morning where the courts not only had me submit to a hair drug test, but they also awarded my ex SOLE temporary custody of my children. You can imagine the confusion my children went through. Compton did absolutely nothing to defend me in this case. (BTW all THREE (hair, urine and a second urine test for "spice") tests came back negative for drugs and my children were returned to me a week later). Needless to say I had him withdraw as my counsel and had another (GREAT) attorney retained prior to the test results even being returned.

• I attempted to speak with Mr. Compton regarding his final bill to me which was incorrect as usual. I left several messages with his staff. He never once called me back. I was left to file a Fee Dispute Resolution with the North Carolina State Bar. He responded to that agreeing to dismiss all disputed charges. I later received a receipt of my final payment to him only to see that I still had a balance due. The balance he agreed to remove!!!!!!

This lawyer never communicated with me regarding my ongoing case(s). And I feel like he never once attempted to do ANYTHING on my behalf other than navigate me through the court process. He is terrible!!! BEWARE and RUN!!! If you have accidently retained this lawyer, my best advice would be to immediately find a new one. Trust me, it will be less expensive in the long run!
