The advertised price seemed to be honored. The item listing included all the usual items from the Canon retailer, so it seemed like a great deal.

I called the Co. (Jan 23) after I had put my web purchase through to be assured the specific product was in stock. The salesman said that it was in stock.

I called again on Jan 25 because I had recieved no confirmation. The Customer Service man said he needed the security code from the back of my card to process the order. This item was included in the form that I filled out on the web, so I became suspect right away.

He then proceeded to try to sell me accessories, of which I refused and let him know that I wanted the body only, as advertised, because I was on a budget. He persisted in trying to sell me REQUIRED accessories. After I refused all his accessory-pushing, he then told me that the camera was forgeign - THIS CAMERA WAS NOT ADVERTISED AS SUCH. He then tried to convince me that the menus on the camera were in Korean and that I'd have to purchase $400 language upgrade for the camera.

From my research, I know that the camera comes with different language settings. However, there is no language upgrade necessary - it is only a menu selection to get the camera into English.

I promptly cancelled my order, stating that I needed to do some research before purchasing.

So, my complaint is truth in advertising. This item was listed in English, on a US website. As such, the "product description" should denote anything out of the ordinary, such as Korean language, since this is a prominent feature.

All the accessories should be listed as "required accessories" if they are required, and the camera itself should be listed as foreign, with the language set to Korean.

I am thinking that this company is doing a form of the Bait-and-switch scam, advertising one item, then convincing the customer to purchase unneccessary and overpriced accessories.

Since they couldn't process my order without "verifying," there should be no charge to my account. At this date (Jan 27) no charges have been noted.
