I am an owner of a Royal Sunset Cancun 2 Bedroom Presidential Suite since 2003 and originally my week was banked at RCI as A Regular Week
Suddenly without notice THE ROYAL SUNSET Cancun, also known as Sunset Group - Sunset Lagoon - Royal Sunset Beach And Fishermans Village - Sunset Group Timeshare Fr Sunset Group - Sunset Lagoon - Royal Sunset Beach And Fishermans Village , also as Sunset Vacations, Sunset Club
changed by banked week at RCI(exchange company) as a HOTEL UNIT WITH 2 PEOPLE ONLY and to make it worst , MY PREMIUM PAID 2 BEDROOM PRESIDENTIAL SUITE FIT FOR 8 persons and private 6 was BANKED AS A NON STANDARD WEEK WITH VERY MUCH LOWER TRADING POWER AT THE RCI
I am very upset that SUNSET WILL NOT RESOLVE THIS COMPLAINT AT ALL and states that all members of SUNSET GROUP are classed at RCI the same way... I AM STILL TRYING TO GET SUNSET TO BANK MY WEEK AS TO WHAT I PURCHASED IE PLATINUM TOP CLASS 2 BR UNIT
try to imagine you bought and paid for a MERCEDES and you are given a two door run down broken junk car that no body wants....get my point
The way Royal Sunset Cancun, sunset club downgraded my PLATINUM WEEK to virtually a worthless Unit is really (as A hotel Unit with 2 people maximum)
is very deceptive and crooked .
I will continue to follow this until ROYAL SUNSET RESOLVES THIS TO MY SATISFACTION, my email address is free4ever8@hotmail.com , please if you are a Royal Sunset club owner please email me or advise on how what legal or other grounds I can persue this.

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront.
I found this article that speak precisely about this, you should read it, that might help you to resolve many doubts:

How to terminate ownership of a time share

Without a doubt, timeshare cancellation is the best and easiest solution to get rid of an unwanted time share. Once the contract is properly cancelled, the strings attached to the resort will be gone forever. Nevertheless, it is important to do the cancellation through the right people. There are many timeshare cancel professionals that ask for an upfront fee, and then they disappear. This is a good article on how to terminate ownership of a time share

Dear Freechoice,
I'm happy to hear that things resolved positively for you!
From personal experience, would you be able to recommend any of the packages specifically?
I'm currently in the market for a timeshare... and have been considering this company for quite some time.
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Update to my concerns about Royal Sunset and my 2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK
AUTHOR: Freechoice - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, February 15, 2009
I am happy to say the ROYAL SUNSET made an attempt to resolve my concerns about my 2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK which was banked at RCI
The issues have been resolved for my 2007 2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK and looking forward to have my 2009 week banked and that ROYAL SUNSET I trust will also resolve this 2009 week to be banked shortly at RCI with the same benefits and all future weeks
I am very pleasantly surprised that Royal Sunset called me on my cell phone back in Vancouver to resolve the 2007 and I trust the 2009 2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK at RCI and future weeks as well
To resolve matters with ROYAL SUNSET I recommend you contact the reservations department
Because I almost lost my 2007 2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK at RCI but this is currently been resolved there is still an element of trust and respect which I hope will eventually become a non issue if my future 2009 and other weeks banked to my satisfaction at RCI
Royal Sunset thanks for resolving my concerns and trust that my 2009 week and future weeks (2BR PRESIDENTIAL SUITE PLATINUM WEEK) are banked appropriately as we discussed,
thanks , freechoice
