S & M Diesel Shop Brigham City Utah Overcharged for services that were barely performed. Did not disclose up front additional charges to that were charged to me. Brigham City Utah

I had a semi that quit on the side of the road.  Called S and M services after finding out my mechanic was not available.  Mechanic said he could go out and find out what was wrong within 30 minutes.  At that point the only information I was givin was that there charges were 95.00 an hour.  About 45 minutes later the mechanic called and said that he looked at the motor and it was siezed up. That was about 15 minutes worth as he said it would be 30 mins to arrive.   He asked it we wanted to have a tow truck brought out from there yard. I said that would be fine.  Again he made me aware that the cost was 195.00 an hour for tow services.  there yard being less than 15 miles away from were I was at.    Later when the truck was towed I recieved a call at 8 oclock at night looking for payment on the bill.  which came to over 700.00  I asked why and then they disclosed that they were charging me a call out fee of 75.00 a 2 hour minimum charge for both the mechanic and the tow truck and mileage on top of that.  Then they told me they would only accept a card in person or had to have a page signed, I was at a basketball function of which I was in charge of and told them I would gladly sign the paper in the morning. At that point they started to get angry with me and accuse me of not wanting to pay the bill.  I agreed.  I did not want to pay a bill for over 4 hours of labor being charged when about 1.5 have been given. But I had a payment ready to give them that they would not accept.  I would reccomend a more user friendly shop that is not out to take advantage of there customers.  They will loose business as they continue to treat people the way I was treate.
