I have never had a worse customer service experience than I have had with Safe home security. I purchased an 36 month home monitoring system and was very careful to send the written 60 day letter of cancellation (certified mail), which they acknowledged in a written response and telling me they hated to lose a good customer.

I was never late, paid my bills promptly and upheld my part of the contract. Well, they continued to bill me after my contract had been fulfilled and when I finally got them to stop I thought it was all over.
Much to my surprise, two years later while reviewing my annual credit report I found that Safehome security had reported me more than 90 days late for at least 12 months, damaging my credit rating and violating my rights under the fair credit reporting act.

When I contacted safe home security to resolve the issue they were rude and unconcerned and could not explain why they continued to report my account in arrears. I could not even get a supervisor to return my calls.

I take great pride in paying my bills on time and being honest and I have been damaged by Safe home security knowingly and maliciously reporting adverse information to the credit reporting companies, resulting in my paying higher interest rates or being denied credit altogether.

There are many, many similar complaints about this company, all you have to do is search for them.

Do not trust or spend any time or money with this unprofessional scam of an operation, I am having to get my states attorney general involved to stop this harassment and to stop Safehome security, Trans union and Experian credit reporting agencies from violating my rights under the Fair credit reporting act.

It is a sad day indeed when a business steals and harasses it's customers in order to try and make a dollar.

Research this company, you will be glad you did, please don't make the same mistake many of us have and assume your are dealing with an honest & reputable firm.

Attorney General, DCP Sue Rocky Hill Home Alarm Company For Illegal Contract Renewal Requirements, Faulty EquipmentAugust 2, 2007Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today announced he has sued Safe Home Security, Inc., and Safe Home Monitoring, Inc., of Rocky Hill along with their owner for violating contract renewal laws, continuing to bill customers who canceled or declined to renew their service and harassing them when they rightly refused to pay.The lawsuit, filed at the request of Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr., also charges David G. Roman and his companies with installing and failing to fix faulty equipment, as well as violations of the state's home improvement contractor laws.

The action alleges that Safe Home companies required consumers to inform them in writing at least 60 days before their contracts expired if they did not wish to renew. The practice violates a state law requiring companies with certain automatic renewal provisions in their contracts to inform consumers the agreements are up for renewal 15 to 60 days before expiration. The law also allows consumers to cancel their agreements during that time period."Despite the understandable rush for security, homeowners should be alert to faulty equipment or fraud," Blumenthal said. "Our message: Be wary of shady home security companies.

Faulty alarm systems can be worse than none -- creating a false sense of security.Blumenthal added, "Our action sounds the alarm on deceitful home security companies. As we say in our suit, these companies knowingly tricked scores of consumers into renewals without their consent or knowledge. Safe Home often renewed contracts even when consumers met their onerous -- and illegal -- cancellation requirements. The companies ignored protests from consumers, continuing to bill them and harassing them with phone calls and bogus 'late' fees. They installed faulty equipment and failed to fix it, endangering customers, sticking them with defective alarms and exposing them to burglars and break ins."

"Safe Home Security's customers were denied some basic consumer rights regarding automatic renewal contracts, which must include proper renewal notice and clear and conspicuous notice of cancellation," Farrell said. "In looking carefully at how the company served its customers, we determined that in failing to return calls or show up for appointments, refusing to repair and replace systems that did not function properly, and failing to honor their warranty and guarantee, Safe Home Security treated customers unfairly. The installation, maintenance and repair of security equipment must be provided without flaw, and the solicitation and renewal of security contracts must be fair."

The suit alleges that company representatives violated state home improvement laws by offering to make home improvements without being registered as home improvement salesmen and failing to provide written notice that consumers may cancel contracts within three business days of signing. Company employees also allegedly performed electrical work without the required state license. The lawsuit seeks restitution for consumers, an order allowing consumers to terminate contracts if they wish, civil penalties up to $5,000 per violation and reimbursement of the state's litigation costs.Current or former Safe Home customers seeking information about the action should call the Attorney General's Office at (860) 808-5400.

I am not sure what to do! Help. I started receiving calls back in October asking if my husband and I were going to renew our contract. I told 3 different peoplw, "No", also asking if there was anything I was going to need to do. They ALL said we did not have to do anything. It is January and I have been charge. Not only that, but when I called, they proceeded to apologize and tell me that I was now bound to another year. That I was supposed to send in a written notice cancelling service. I spoke to the president of the company, as did my husband, getting no where. We are in financial dificulty and now locked in to another year of something we do not use and do not want. Most horrible customer service and business morals I have ever come across. Please tell me there is something I can do. They are setting people up and ripping people off everyday.

Pay attention Folks, this is what you get from Customer Service

This is exactly what you get from Safe Home Security: Nothing

1) Reposting the phone number I have already posted and said they won't call me back from.

2) Posting the reporting companies violations under the FCRA, which I have already done.

Reposting phone numbers and confirming that Safe Home violated the FCRA doesn't really offer a solution, does it?

We can even be more specific: I originally spoke with Kelly on 11/17/12, she told me to contact Sara Weaver @ 800-833-3211 ext 1628, after leaving several messages for a week with no return call I was then instructed to speak with Michael, who hasn't returned my calls either.

So, at this point we have had to contact the DOJ and NC dept of consumer affairs to get some action against this company. There are other states attorney generals that have had to get involved due to their unfair and deceptive business practices.

BUYER BEWARE!

To my knowledge, credit bureaus require participating members to report missed and delinquent payments. Doing so ensures the integrity of their data and credit scores. If your payment history was reported in error, Safe Home will take steps to repair your credit history. Call 800-833-3211, or email customercare@safehomesecurityinc.com
