SAN MARCOS MACHINE SHOP/SHULTZS MACHINE SHOP MATT INCOMPLETED JOB / DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP SAN MARCOS Texas

I took 2 cylinder heads to have them checked for craks and leaks and to have resurfaced. I called after 3 days to check on heads and was told he was cutting the surface and would call me in 2 hours when they were done. I got no call and when I tried calling no one would answer the phone. The next day I sent someone to check on the heads and the place was locked up. I kept trying to call but no answer. I went the next day and the place was locked up again but Matt finally came out and said his equipment broke and he finally got it fixed and would have the heads ready in 2 hours. Thats was at 10am.

I tried calling to see if they were ready at 12 noon and got no answer. I sent my employee with cash to pickup the heads and he called me when he got there and told me it would be another hour. I told him to wait. He got there at 12:30 and did not leave until 3:30. My technician installed the heads. Upon startup we noticed compbustion gases in the cooling system. Upon further inspection we found that both heads were cracked. I asked Matt at the machine shop to check both heads for cracks and leaks before he resurfaced them so that if they were cracked I could get new heads. My customer is from out of town and staying in a hotel until this job is complete.

Now I have to pay for his extended stay and new head gaskets, bolts, coolant, oil and pay my technician again the remove that defective heads and install new ones. The customer will pay for the heads but I cannot charge him again for the labor to remove and install the second time. This job is a 20 hour job and will cost me far more than any profit I could have made all because the Matt at the machine shop did not do his job. I would suggest that you stay away from that place because Matt does not do what he is asked to do and he very unpredictable when it comes to the hours of operation. Hardly ever answers the phone and lies to you.

If I tell you I am going to do something by a certain time you can count on it being done. He will know who I am and cannmot disagree if he wants to be totally honest, which at this point I am not so sure he can be.
