My first impression of this place was that I thought it was very professional.  I would later find out that the people there dress up to make you feel like there is money to be made there but in reality those people that are dressed up redress into  AT&T gear later on and solicit.

I was given so much hope at first.  I was told that I could make a lot of money and start my own business if I worked hard enough.  I started getting suspicious at first when I found out that 99% of the employees there had only been there for less than a month.  I' myself stayed there for 3 weeks and I saw many superiors over me quitting.

I lost way more money than I made there.  I used so much of my own money in gas to go solicit and when I would get paid I would always get ripped off.  All-in-all, I worked there for 3 weeks spent $400 in my own money on gas and I made about $200.  Unfortunately, even though I made that lousy $200 I didn't see all of it.  Out of that $200, Brandon Kennard(The Owner) paid me $86.  In regards to that other $114 he said that the customers I signed up must have canceled.  In reality, they didn't cancel, Brandon wanted to steal some of my money because he knew I had quit and plus he has a failing business.

SC Business Consulting is not worth it.  I'm worse off now than I was before I started working there.

They tried to make it sound like it was going to be a great place to work when I got the job but really all you do is door knock on people's houses late at night and you hardly ever get paid for it!!!  Not worth it......

I would agree with malefactor

AUTHOR: Buster - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 22, 2014

While I agree with malefactor I think you put a good spin on it, I use to work at SCBC and while it is not for everyone, I think some things could be explained up front rather than re wording certain things to make it seem like it isn't commission or going to home owners residents to sell uverse.

since not working at SCBC anymore and interviewing with other companies I notice that other companies take their interview process veer serious and let's you know everything up front.

even insurance companies who also go to people's houses in occasion and work strictly off commission even they let potential employees know everything up front before they even start the interview process and they are very selective on who they pick so that way both parties know what they are getting into.

i think if SCBC took this approach things would work out better cause you wouldn't have as many people talking bad or coming and leaving the company on a daily basis

Interesting Points on Both Sides...

AUTHOR: Malefactor - ()

POSTED: Saturday, November 16, 2013

I think the anonymous company representative has a point, in that work that doesn't pay and relies entirely upon your ability to sell cable tv services door to door certainly isn't for everyone. Also, entrepreneurship certainly isn't for everyone either. I think the disconnect is that this is what the company is telling people after they quit. I've known people who have gotten involved in similar ventures, and those people tried to pitch it to me. Thankfully I never got involved myself, but I did see how it turned out for those that did.

I've experienced the pitches, and looking at this particular company's website, I see a lot of reasons listed about why this approach to marketing is so great, and also why it's such a great place to work. I don't see anything about how this opportunity is not for everyone (in fact, they say they'll take anyone, no experience required), how getting paid back the money you invest yourself to do the job isn't a sure bet, or anything negative refrerred to in even the slightest. Judging from the responses I see here, it doesn't sound like anyone is given this sort of information up front, just when they've already failed.

The rebuttals are correct in that this job isn't for everyone, and that success is completely dependent upon your hard work, dedication, ability to pay for your own gas while not making money, etc. In a lot of ways the job is less of a job and more of an investment opportunity. So, probably not something people who have no money and need to make money now should be invovled in.

Yet, the people who I knew that got involved in this sort of thing were never the people who were suited for it. They were bad choices for an entrepreneur. I think the problem isn't that the opportunity isn't for everyone, that's totally fine. The problem with this sort of thing is that no due-diligence is done to sort out who should and shouldn't get involved, and that every effort is made up front to seem like the opportunity is for everyone, that you will succeed, and that this is the big break you've been waiting for. Imagine if a monetary investment was presented to you in this way. The only reason it isn't fraud is that people are investing their time instead of their money.

This is beside my point, but for an entrepreneurial opportunity which requires some risk (you could pay for your gas and not make any money) and a significant time investment, the $500 a week average is pretty lame. That amounts to around $30,000 a year, probably less. I know this because I make a bit more than that as my take home pay, after my half of my medical insurance and taxes are deducted from my pay check.

These people are out knocking on doors with no guarantee that they'll make any money, and they're making slightly less than I am. Meanwhile, I work in marketing, but I'm designing and managing actual marketing campaigns for large tech companies, never working on a weekend, and my paychecks are guaranteed, and I have benefits, a 10% or more annual bonus and have been earning a 10% raise every year thus far, all while I work from the comfort of my own home. $0.00 spent on gas for work. No knocking on people's doors. When I do travel (a week at a time, 2-3 times a year), it's to big cities or other countries, I have great accomodations and eat at amazing restaurants, and it's all paid for by clients, not me.

I don't think the effort and risk being put into this opportunity sounds like it's worth what is paid out even if you are one the people this opportunity is for. I'm all for the "don't be a slave to your job, unlock your potential and do more than most do" philosophy (Again, see the bit about working from home making good pay and benefits and doing something I love, all without a college degree, mind you.) However, the whole point of that philosophy is to carve out your own path and do something you love while not being a slave to your work and still make money.

If the "opportunity" has you working weekends, knocking on people's doors to try to sell them a competiting service (Who loves selling stuff door to door?), all while presumably enjoying no benefits, no guaranteed pay, and even if you do meet the definition of success set by the company itself, then for all that risk and extra effort you're not making more money than you would with a traditional employement arrangement, I hardly see what makes this a great opportunity at all.

Even though my situation is not typical and it was a difficult and unsure path until I "made it," I've found that working for a small marketing agency with one foot in the corporate world has offered far better rewards than what these sorts of "opportunities" have promised in their attempts to court me.

First off the 1000 dollar fine was something that did not have to be paid and if it did none of the employees would have had to pay for it.

Why should I come out and say who I am? Why don't you do so first. Fact is my most recent check was over 400 bucks and in the interview they do not tell you it's 3 to 500 plus commission they say its 3 to 500 plus bonuses.

Even in the new hire paper work it tells you that it's commission. You hear only what you want to hear and not what it really is.

Also funny how other people consistently make 500 or close to it per week and that's fact not opinion check there pay stubs.

So again why couldn't you make that much?? The common denominator is YOU so don't go blaming others for your short comings.

The sr natl consultants had to deal with the same things everyone else had to deal with only diff is they had a strong mentality and not a weak mentality like you

Yes you have to pay your own gas but guess what if u don't make excuses and make money then payin for gas is nothing

Fact VS Opinion

AUTHOR: StyleCal - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 16, 2013

I hope Everyone can see the difference between Fact and Opinion here. The Facts Are there is No Guarantee That You will make The money they tell you in the Interview 300- 500 plus commission even OKCBOI is not guarantee to make that even though he talks the talk In Sales you cannot control what others are going to buy from you all you can do is try your best. Another fact is that you will be using your own gas money and vehicle I think OWNER OPERATOR is what they call it.

Another Fact Is that You will Go to court and Get a $1,000 Fine For Soliciting like Shawn Did and they don't want to tell you about it. Another Fact Is that OKCBOI Is Using Curse Words When Representing This So Called Company Who Does That? A Opinion Is Someone Who Thinks Another Human Cannot Do This Or Thinks Someone Is Lazy Or Whatever The Case May Be We might think the same about You OKCBOI If You had the guts to come out with your real name!!!!?? I think it's hysterical how you make like everyone there that quits, quits because they didn't follow sales instructions or this work wasn't cut out for them. LOL.

If SC Business Consulting is so good................ then why does this company have about a 0.5% retention rate?  From what I observed from talking to people and collecting information I have noticed that 99.5% of all people that join SCBC  quit within less than a month!  I know that you guys have 5 or 6 people there that have been there for a longgggg time but what about those other hundreds of people that SCBC has hired that quit?  That could maybe explain why Brandon "The Owner" does about 50 interviews every week.  Out of those 50 that get interviewed 99% of the time every applicant that gets hired out of that 50 quits within a couple of weeks.  DO YOU CALL THAT SUCCESS?

Let me quess out of the HUNDREDS of people that have quit SCBC in the short amount of time that it's been in business, DO THEY quit because they are stupid, bad at sales, not worthy of entrepreneur?  Why do they quit?  You have so many excuses on why I'm wrong and everyone else is wrong but you still don't get it.

PEOPLE QUIT YOUR LOUSY BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT CAPABLE OF SETTING PEOPLE UP FOR SUCCESS.

On the other hand:  I don't blame you for trying shift blame and not take accountability.  I would do the same thing if I ran that company.  It's called PR or public relations.  We can't have people googling South Carolina Business Consulting and finding out the truth can we??? BAAHAHAA

This job was not for either of you the person who wrote the report nor was it for you either faith.

First off for the author of this report, if this is a commission job then why will you get paid for orders that end up canceling??? Does that make any sense?

Second off you should have been better at the sales, I know they taught you how to sell so don't blame others for your short comings.

3rd in the interview you are told its merit based so like faith said what you put in is what you get out and as we can see you did not put in much and you got what you deserve. This business weeds out the weak because we don't need weak business owners so you weeded your self out, of you can't make money then how can you run your own business and show others how to make money.

Who ever wrote this we glad you are gone you took up more space and prob lost the company more money than you made it.

As for faith you were not mis lead you prob just mis heard and only heard what you wanted to hear, you signed new hire papers like everyone does and it says its commission, SC consulting does not need you. They only sell false dreams to those who are not willing to work for it and you fall into that lazy person mindset

Sc Business Consulting Scam

AUTHOR: Faith - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, March 09, 2013

I just got hired with SC Business Consulting Company on March 25th 2013 during my interview they said that I would be making 300-500 plus commission comes to find out that it was not a guarantee 300-500 that's was what they had averaged for what a normal person would make they did not tell me it could be any less.

They say that all work is merit based and the work you put in is what you get out but I have been working 12 hour days since I started and your not guarantee to get someone to switch to att U-verse. The first couple of days the teach you in the office but for some reason they cannot tell me how much I should expect my first paycheck to be.

They say that if trainee does intro/short and leader closes app then trainee will get 10% and leader 90% and each app is usually worth $111 so it would make your percentage about $10. For a full days work depending on how many more you get throughout the day.

If trainee does intro/short story, pulls bills and leader has to close app then trainee 25% and leader 75%

If trainee does intro/short story, pulls bills attempts presentation/close but leader has to step in and close app trainee 50% leader 50%

If trainee does intro/short story, pulls bills, presents, closes with minimal help from leader trainee 85% Leader 15%

If trainee does it all with NO help from Leader then trainee will get 100%

But my experience is that the leader will always step in so the most you will make is the 25% which is only $25 per app because thats all they are going to let you make on they're apps.

I was told that I was going to be entering as a entry level manager position (acct rep) and moving my way up but you really stay doing the same thing which is sales and the manager position comes in when you teach others everything you have learned but your still out in the field doing door to door sales.

I was told I was going to be working full time (40+ hours) so I thought the 300-500 they were talking about me getting was for the full time and then plus the commission which would be people that get the U-verse.

I found myself working 12 hour days working until 9:30a- 10a until 8-9p and then still working saturdays from 10:30- 5p which nobody initially told me that. I also found myself spending a bunch of money on breakfast and lunch and gas getting to work and driving people around.

They wasted my time and they're time this job is not what it's made out to be and they just sell you this job like they sell people U-verse. WARNING: They paint a BIG FAKE PICTURE!!!!
