Our family bought a 7 week old puppy from Shake A Paw puppies NOT knowing the suffering future of this poor puppy. He was shipped from Hungary, but we were lucky enough to get him the first morning he had arrived. We brought him home and there had ben nothing but trouble

Despite his many sicknesses, he had a severe aggression problem. Doctors and behaviorists ( all paid for by us which surpassed 2,000 dollars) were convinced the dog had neurological problems. After he had bitten me and my father, we were forced to put him down. It was a severely painful decision, but behaviorists and veternarians backed us up.

When we went to Shake A Paw and told them what had happened, we were SURPRISED by the COLD reaction that was given to us. The manager MARK would have nothing to do with us, and would not even come out of the back to speak with us. They even threatened to escort us out the store because we wanted to wait to speak with him.

Shake a Paw had no compassion for us and our puppy. They would not even CONSIDER us getting money back for the puppy. We are heartbroken, and just want to make sure that no one else has to go through what we went through.

Personally speaking, until just a few moments ago, I had no idea that ignorance could go so far.

Now, i'm an animal lover - i'd do anything for any animal - but don't you think you should listen to yourself, so to speak, before putting your nonsense out there for the world to see?

You said yourself that the puppy had arrived THE MORNING OF THE PURCHASE; so, please tell me, how exactly does your rare situation in ANY way reflect the negligence of the store? clearly, you were oh-so-heroic in your impulsive buying ways, to save the dog BEFORE the store had a fraction of a chance to effect the dogs health, let alone its neurological system.

dogs are like people - kinder and smarter, of course - but nonetheless, are just as susceptible to a genetic screw up as we are; healthy parents & good health records sure don't ensure that a child is going to be perfect; If you beg to differ, please let me know - I know a number of people with mentally retarded children that would love to hear your unworthy opinion on the matter of genetic mishaps.

I guess the point I'm getting at here is, GROW UP. I bought my dog from a breeder, only to find out several years later that he had an untreatable, advanced form of cancer - of course I was miserable, bitter, and distraught - but one thing i was NOT, was out on a mission to bash the breeder or vet's whom, despite their efforts, could not cure him.

Similarly, my Godmother passed away from a type of cancer with the same odds. Devestating as it may have been, how rational would I have seemed if I went out on a hunt to ruin her parents, or more accurately, the OB/GYN who first handled her in this life? Moreover, when it comes down to it, s**t HAPPENS; face it.

If you want to fight for a cause, you should look into unnecessary euthanasia. And before you go trying to cover your a**, save your words - (unless you have a video of your session's with the Dog Whisperer) - if you're going to boast about spending absurd ammounts of money on a said-"behaviorist," at least back it up with someone credible and effective like good ol' Caesar Milan. Would you kill your little brother if a "social worker" deemed him abnormal? Next time, think about what you're saying, and save yourself the embarassment.

Love Always,

-the HAPPY consumer :)

I wonder when people will learn about pet store puppies. How many reports on TV and in newspapers and yes, here on ripoffreport too, will it take? You had enough computer savvy to come here after the fact and complain, why not do some research beforehand?

Pet stores sell puppy mill puppies and yes, there are puppy mills in foreign countries too.

Do you know what a puppy mill is? Check it out on the internet. Reputable breeders DO NOT sell to pet stores.

I am sorry your puppy was sick and died. How much did he cost initally? What was his breed?

I am sorry for your loss, but it is to be expected from a pet store purchase.
