I have been shopping at the Shaws Supermarket in Cambridge MA for a long time. In the last two years I have been openly harrassed by workers there by laughter, mocking and insults. I have filed several complaints and even a police report to the City of Cambridge. The manager of the store even denied that the police called her. A detective called her, her name is Debbie Hefferan. The detective's name is Officer Crowley and he did in fact call her to tell her, that the employee needs to leave me alone. I also called the Headquarters in Idaho a few times and talked to an executive named Michael Moore who told me that someone in risk would be getting back to me about the compensation program they have and that they would investigate this. I have also talked to the district manager of Shaws in Bridgewater MA named Paul Nerney. He did nothing and then I got a certified letter saying that I could not contact customer service anymore from the legal department. They said to contact the store, this is going through a loop. its a game they are playing and they just want me to stop complaining, no one can tell you not to complain, its your right to complain and I have every right to do this.
The store did absolutely nothing. The worker I was complaining about was named Beverly and the harrassment would stop for awhile, then start up again, I have copies of my complaints, police report, and when I called back the customer service they had the nerve to tell me to call the store again. I tried to reach Michael Moore in customer service in Idaho again, and talked to another executive who said she would look into it. She did nothing either, her name is Liesel. The secretary of the executives told me to contact the store. They are breaking the law by allowing harrassment. There were times when I wanted to choke the workers, but of course I cannot. They do absolutely nothing to stop harrassing behavior. I called Debbie Hefferan of the Shaws Supermarket and told her she lied about the police and did nothing. They care about nothing. I had a cashier tell me to bag my own groceries and when I confronted him about it later, he said, he didn't remmember it, when I talked to another worker about it, she kind of laughed, they are sick people in this store, at all levels. The business is sleazy. I have been treated for depression and to put up with this in a store is just intolerable. I asked for compensation also. I also filed a report with the better business bureau, they said I complained about prices and the company said they are not responsible since the better business bureau did nothing. I complained about harrasment not prices, its in my report to better business bureau and even a person at the better business bureau said you cant legislate behavior, I thought that was the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time. I also filed a report with the Massachusetts Council on Discrimination. I dont know if they will get back to me. thanks, I can give you more information. Some of the workers there even mock people that are sick in wheelchairs etc. It happened to one of my friends.
