My 2012 jetta tdi with only 18,000 miles on it has a sporadic idle. Volkswagen insists there is nothing wrong, the car has also died 3 times. One of the times I was pulling into traffic and almost got hit. They claim they cannot replicate any issues and offered me a 1,000$ coupon for a trade in towards another Volkswagen. They have treated me with nothing but rudeness, the local dealership (Shepard motors) here in Eugene, Oregon blamed the issues on me. They also made excuses to why they didn't provide their normal checkups while my car was in the shop for 29 consecutive days. All I asked for was them to help me out so I can trade the car in with no negative equity or a buy back. The Regional manager of Volkswagen himself (Jeff) said "good luck with that". Figured I would let everyone know the disservice Volkswagen provides to paying customers.

Social Blackmail? Really?

TyG, you HAVE to be a manager at Sheppard Motors or VWoA. Who else could come up with such an inane and ridiculous reply. Social blackmail? How about a public shaming for their shoddy treatment of a paying customer? Have you read their reviews on Yelp? Not good. Not sure where you got your law degree, but I can assure you that a car company IS under a legal obligation to provide a safe and reliable vehicle. They ARE legally bound by the terms of their warranty, they've been given more than enough time to return this NEW vehicle to a drivable state, and to date that has not happened.This is why the lemon law exists TYG, so when a company turns out a crappy, unsafe product the consumer is protected!

Fruther, this is not merely an inconvenience; this is a real safety issue. I took a look at NHTSA reports and there are lots of other complaints about this very issue, so this is not an isolated occurence. So TYG, nobody should be ashamed of getting what they paid for, but a car company and the company that sells them should be ashamed for their abysmal treatment of this customer.

 No you figured since they wouldnt work with you to give you YOUR way you would attempt to use social blackmail to get them to give you your way. The people who post here ARE smarter then YOU are giving them credit for. THEY as well as ANYONE who reads your post is going to see the exact same thing. The car company is under ZERO obligation to do as you have asked. All YOU have done is show your self-entitlement streak and you should really be ashamed of that. YOU are entitled to wake up and breath, EVERYTHING else is open to interpretation.
