Same as other people who filed a report on this website against Shine Time Auto Detailing, I bought 2 vouchers from Groupon website (value of $40 each).  Each voucher stated that I was entitled to $285 of auto detailing.  I used the first voucher in early November of 2011. They did a good job in detailing my car this time, except for the fact that they soaked it with water. During the first 3-4 days the electrical in my car was not working properly (i.e. when I turned on a signal to go right, a left signal would turn on; all the gadgets inside of my car were lighting up on their own; etc...).  In addition, due to the soaked floor mats, there was so much condensation inside of my car, that it was absolutely unsafe to drive. I was driving only when I had to, and with my head sticking out of the driver side window!!! For a week and a half after getting my car detailed I had to wipe the inside of my windows with paper towels before driving due to serious condensation. At this time I didn't complain to them as I really felt like there was not much they would do, but tell me to wait for all the water to dry off.

At the beginning of the summer in 2012 I made another appointment to use the second voucher. When I got there, one of the owners told me that he had no staff to detail my car and apologized. He said to call and make another appointment and he told me that he will make sure that I am "well taken care off". In addition, he said that he will throw in some additional detailing work for free.

I made another appointment on October 19, 2012. I was told to come back at 2pm to pick up. I was there at 3pm and they were still not done. The car was barely cleaned on the inside. The cupholders and other holding spaces in the car were not cleaned and had dust and dirt. I had to point that out to them, and then they cleaned it, but it was still not well cleaned. The space of my truck where the spare tire is located was not vacuumed at all. It still had dirt/dust and some dog hair. The completely missed that area. The windows were smudged.  The car was not waxed. On the floor they missed to vacuum one of the crackers that my children dropped, and they soaked the floor mats and the cracker with water, so it was lying there mushy on the floor.  The owner told us that he has to charge us $29 extra for taxes and gratuities. We tried arguing with him, but in the end we paid it. He went further and tried selling us extra stuff like cleaning our leather seats and vacuuming a bit of pet hair that I had in the truck (I drive a small Jeep). I explained to him that the first time I used their services the $285 voucher included all the vacuuming, seat cleaning and pet hair cleaning, and I was not asked to pay gratuities and taxes. I did voluntarily give the guy who worked on my car the first time $20 tip (not knowing that he soaked the floor mats). The owner explained to me that he was simply not making enough money off of these Groupon vouchers and that he had to start charging for tax, gratuities, and other extra work. I mentioned to him that last time they soaked my car completely and that in the summer time he cancelled on me and told me he was going to take "good care of me", but he just dismissed all this.  I was left wondering if this is a voucher for $285 car detailing, what can possibly be extra on top of that? In my opinion $285 is a lot of money and it should include all these services for which he is charging extra. Otherwise, it should be advertised as a voucher from Groupon that you can get for $40, whose actual value is $20.
