I just noticed that I've been charged $14.95/mo for the last 3 months.

I called my credit company and they told me that I can dispute the charges to date, but I can't stop this company from continuing to charge me. I would have to get a whole new credit card number, which I didn't want to do.

The credit card guy gave me Shopping Essentials 800 number to call and said the only way is for me to call them and stop the charges. Argggghhhh... Then, I found them on the internet and got a different number. So... if you've been had by this company, try calling them on one of these 2 numbers:

1-888-999-0564 (what credit card co. gave me)
888-243-6180 (what I found on the internet)

Oh... to make matters worse, I tried to login to the website, because it says in the FAQ that cancellation is easy once you login. It said if you don't know your ID (which of course, I didn't) to use email or visa number to retrieve your login ID. Well... I used my email, it didn't work. I used the VISA number (which they've been charging for the last 3 months), it didn't work.

I finally had to call and wait (lucky for me, I only had to wait 10 min. or so) and the representative gave me her name and ID# as a confirmation# for cancelling my account. I asked for my money back for the last 3 months ($44.85), and she said the best she can do is $14.95. So I took it. I'll get the rest back through the credit card dispute claim, I hope. What a SCAM!!!!

Then, the lady told me how they got my credit card number. I went for this Restaurants.com promotion where you get $25 gift certificate for $2. Apparently, in the process I was signed up for this Shopping Essentials thing, although I DO NOT remember it at all. So... BEWARE when you sign up for a deal that seems too good to be true. It probably is.
