April 26th, 2016. Ordered a car for pick up online through Orbitz. No clear disclosure of hidden fees (extra insurance costs) on this site, or within my receipt. Granted, there was a line stating something about possible extra insurance fees, but I spent the extra 15 or so dollars a day to buy the insurance offered through the Orbitz site.
Upon signing for my car, I proved that I had purchased extra protection through Orbitz, as well as giving proof of my own insurance. This was not good enough for Signature. Quote from the sales associate, Daniel, complete with snarky tone "That insurance may be good enough for you, but it's not good enough for us!"
When I expressed my humourous shock (I chuckled and said "it seems this happens a lot", as 3 customers had left the building in only the 10 minutes I was there, obviouosly all of them very upset with the hidden fees and terrible cutomer service), Daniel, this young, aggressive sales associate, began to harshly "reprimand" me for having the nerve to insult him. The situation went from calm to extremely hostile all on the part of his actions. When I pointed out that this was no way to treat a customer, that his off-putting, contentious defenses to my simple bemused demeanour were not acceptable, he gave me an ultimatum: do what I say or leave. Daniel ruined the entire experience for me.
When I needed to extend my rental, I was on hold for 2 and a half hours. I had to use speaker phone so I could get some chores done :) Email is impossible ("failed to send" message only).
In total, I paid around 1000 dollars for a car advertised on Orbitz at 105. 1000 dollars for 12 days. What?!
Now, to top it all off, I signed the final paper on May 7th, and another sales associate told me my deposit would be returned. It's May 20th, and I still haven't received my deposit repayment.

I would like an apology from Daniel, a disclosure of the hidden insurance fees on Orbitz and other search engines (not just a phishing scam price), and the return of my deposit immediately. Do NOT do business with Signature Rental Car. Do NOT be fooled by the search engine false prices. There is something very fishy going on with this company. As an example, already stated above, but Daniel and his colleagues seemed to have all their lines ready for any and all complaints coming their way. This was a rehearsed, practiced hostile defense to a very obviously coomon complaint. The escalation of the situation by Daniel was remarkable. I have never experienced that before.
