when we purchased our sirius satellite radio system we followed the steps to fill out and send in the form and "bar code" from the box.

They sent us a postcard claiming we sent them the wrong bar-code!!! And to send the correct one. Now, if I'v'e already sent the bar-code from the box, how am i going to get another one????

And since we didn't send the correct one, we won't be getting our $50 rebate.

I would suggest that if anyone purchases this system to have the seller give them the $50, then they can send in the bar-code and get thier money back.

hi greg. what FM thing do you have? is t the FM extender cable? or the fm adapter that is hard wired in? the fm adapter cable is better, and if you do not have that, call customer service, and ask for "customer satisfaction".

when you get them, explain your situation, tell them you need the FM adapter cable, and an "install card" that will cover the cost of your instalation into your car. this will eliminate your need to change FM frequancies all the time as it will override any station that will come in on the channel you chose. it would be like having it built into your car.

also, greg, i have to mention, that there has been some issues in your area, and it has been broadcasted on the news, that the repeater in your area is temporarily out of svc, but we are compinsating for that, so while you have "customer satisafction" on the line, tell them how long you've been experiencing your problem, and that you want compinsation for your time lost.

we are instructed to compinsate, so get what is due to you. if you have any more issues, feel free to ask me, or you can email me (that goes for anyone needing help)

No service at home

AUTHOR: Greg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 12, 2007

Heather, what do i do i live in harrisburg? I spent over $700.00 for a stiletto and home and car kit as well as a boom box and have had no service at my house and next too none in my car? By the way i have the fm thing your talking about as weell. Thought something was wrong when i changed esn from my radio of almost two years and lady told me i would have too go outside. but this is a portable unit.. Yea right not even service period. But your GREAT CUSTOMER service kept saying nothing wrong. After two tv stations doing reports on it not working, customer service says repeater problems??

All i am asking for is the truth and the service to work that i paid for. Sure credits given but no truth about when it would be working. Don't understand when in stores that sell sirius have 3 bars of service i can't keep 1. I do not understand how you can sell something in our area knowing it does not work?? Please help. Thanks

i can't stress how many times i have said this throughout my time on this site, but the rebates are not handled by customer service, but the first person who responded to the person who posted the complaint was correct, in a way. i don't know how many times one should have to dedicate to get their credit, but i know that when i check a rebate, and a situation is as it was in your case, i DO issue the credit back onto the customer's credit or debit card. as for the static, YES you will get static with sirius or with xm because the FCC has regulated the transmittion from the fm transmitters, and all companies had to comply.

However, to rectify the problem, both sirius and xm have come up with ways to improve the signal, but the best thing to get is an fm adapter cable, which we will send you for free WITH an instalation card to have it professionaly installed.

i think the thing to do is to DO YOUR RESEARCH. as for the merge between xm and sirius, nothing is written in stone, so we'll have to wait and see. if you want my opinion, the best number to call in at sirius is 1-888-539-7474, and press option 6. hope all this helps.

I suggest before you send UPS Bar Code for rebates, make a photocopy of it for your record keeping.

Thanks for the suggestion to keep after them. I've tried that, and don't have the time to spend hours on the phone waiting for them to answer. But, i've found a better way to hurt them. When someone asks about thier service (and many have) I tell them to go with a different company.

Approaching people is easy since most of the department stores sell Sirius now. The business i've lost them has gone beyond the $50 they owe us. After our year of service is up, we'll definately not renew. We don't listen to it now because there's so much static. An expensive lesson learned.

If you keep after them they put it back on your credit card. Call every day if you have too. the customer service is REAL BAD. Mine was lost in mail yea right. But after many calls put on account;then make them credit back too your card you will need to be very persistant demand a supervisor;go to the cancel service part of calling system. GOOD LUCK
