My wife and I bought a vehicle that had the luxury of satellite radio option. (we received a 6 month introductory offer)The service was cut off after 30 days and I was able to, after a few calls get the service turned back on. This should have been a warning shot to my bow that maybe this company is not fully above board.

I received a call towards the end of my free trial from a very aggressive telemarketer who I could barely understand obviously calling from a very busy telemarketing center. After a few minutes of trying to decipher what she was talking about I came to the conclusion that she was offering me Sirius XM for 6 or 7 months at a price of around 24 dollars. I clarified with her several times that this offer was repeating and that at the end of 6 or 7 months I would be rebilled the 24 dollars for another 6 or 7 months. (she said this multiple times)

I was under the gun and although I had hesitation just from the poor interaction with an obvious slam clicker telemarketer I decided to do it. She spoke so fast that I had trouble listening to everything she said I assume she does that on purpose.

I agreed to be billed for the first 7 month period and had 15 days or so to pay. It took about a week and me calling to get the service actually started again but it was eventually reinstated. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the service and loved listening to Howard Stern and the kids loved their channels as well. It played in the back of my head why a company with such a STRONG product would have such an impersonal and scam feeling service and sales center.

I was on the fence whether or not to keep the service. I by no means was going to give my credit or debit info to these people who I could barely understand. I was receiving 2 to 4 calls PER DAY from this company and this only solidified my concern with this companies billing and sales practices.

I finally answered a call from them to see if I could speak to someone I could understand to get better details on what I was signing up for. It turned out that I was being contacted by the collections dept. at this time. (

I called back and got in touch with a gentleman who obviously took pride in his job unlike his colleagues. He went over everything with me in detail and in English, the only language I speak unfortunately. He clarified that the $36.00 bucks, not $24.00 was for 5 months and after that they would automatically bill me and the rate would NOT stay the same. I figured what the original girl told me was too good to be true. This gentleman was very professional and if they would hire more people like him I probably wouldn’t be able to read negative comment after negative comment about XM radio sales and service.

At this point I realized that I don’t have time to deal with deceptive practices of a huge company and I am going to mail in a money order for the $11.76 or whatever it was to close my account. This is completely ridiculous and I hope that XM decides to switch whoever they contract out their sales and service to. It’s a shame that they represent themselves to the market in this manner. It’s like a BMW dealership hiring a staff of Cavemen to sell and service their product. DOESN’T MAKE MUCH SENSE! ?

I am NOT a hard person to please and it takes A LOT to get me to a point where I WASTE MORE TIME writing letters to Rip Off report and other companies. I just feel like people need to be warned and from what I have read on Rip Off Report alone I am not the only person who is having problems with them.

It really sucks because the product like I said is AMAZING! I just don’t have time for slam click high pressure T marketing games and billing nightmares! If XM feels like they need to scam people for 12 bucks I hope its lucrative enough to keep them in business. Let’s see, 7 billion people in the world get half of them for 12 bucks and you are looking at 42 billion dollars?! I guess it adds up!  LOL

BE AWARE DONT GET SCREWED!!!
