On 11/17/2007 my husband and I went to sleepys to purchase a special mattress to help with my chronic heart condition and circulation problems. After getting into great detail with the salesman he suggested the Delux split queen mattress set, however he didn't have one in the showroom for us to try. He pointed to another mattress and said it was the same type and would feel the same. This is where we were misled.
On 11/18 the mattress arrived and that night was the beginning of many unrestful nights to come. The mattress was horrible the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. The salesman didn't tell us there would be a large gap down the center of the bed where the "two twin mattresses push together to become a queen bed". Well when you move at night so does the mattress!! And worse my legs/ arms get wedged in the gap and fall asleep.
The next day my husband called the store and was told to sleep on it for 2 weeks to allow the mattress to adjust. Well that didn't close the gap nor make the mattress any more comfortable! We called again wanting an exchange. We are then told to come in. While trying to exchange the mattress we are told that the bases cannot be exchanged. Then we are told that we can't have a refund on the difference in the amount of the original mattress and the new one and the salesman states" Don't you know anyone who needs a new bed?" And we can have future credit on another new mattress that we might need. OR we can just "BOLT the two mattresses together to keep them from moving. WHAT??? Spend $6718.52 for a mattress I can't sleep on, Bolt two together or recieve FUTURE credit on another mattress. So pay now recieve later?? Am I in the US or what?? Don't we the consumer have the right to return a major purchase if we aren't satisfied?? Especially the next day -The wrong mattress!! The company's policy that a customer be 100% satisfied Well I'M NOT!!! Customer service just passes you from one person who doesn't know to another who doesn't know either. You get NO WHERE!
