Sony Corp rebate ripoff scam New York USA

Sony Corporation Of AmericaSony Corporation Of America REBATE - refused to honor a rebate claiming necessary info was not included: BULLSHIT ripoff New York New York .....

I purchased a spindle of Sony cds from a retailer, and received a form for a $10 rebate. After filling out the form, I mailed the form along with the copy of the receipt and the UPC barcode.

About 6 weeks later I received an email saying my rebate information was incomplete, claiming I did not include the UPC. I've been working in retail for over 5 years and am well aware of what a UPC is. I know for a fact I included it with the submission, but they denied I did. They said I could mail in a copy of receipt, but because I included all the necessary information when I initially mailed the rebate, I threw out the remaining copy.

Sony's rebate service told me the only way to get the rebate was with the UPC or the receipt. Today I received a card from Sony explaining the rebate could not be completed because of the "missing" UPC. Luckily I saw the link for this website in the NY TIMES so I could report their fraudulent claims.
