The school is a scam! Their degrees are from diploma mills and fake.

I was assigned 5 different financial advisors since starting April 11, 2011. I contacted everyone of them, I was told this one quit, that was not assigned to you, thats our director, etc. Excuse after excuse as to why no one was contacting me regarding my FAFSA. Finally I demanded answers and got told I forgot my husbands income on my FAFSA application. So I refiled it.

Then a week later I am being told my FAFSA was rejected, there is no proof I graduated from high school. Are you serious? Yes I am, I graduated June 3, 2000 from Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School, with a National Honor Society Sash on my gown, 4 years perfect attendance, a Certificate in Drafting, and my diploma. I as well attended community college with a Direct Loans Student Loan in 2000 but dropped out of the school as I had become pregnant with twins.

Now I have been searching more in detail about this school. Its a scam they are stealing our money!

I have reported this school as have many many others to the Federal Trade Comission, The Better Business Bureau, The Dept. of E ducation and The General Att. Office. They went into my FAFSA changed my PIN. I contacted FAFSA and they said I had a legit complaint, I applied for a new PIN as they instructed so that SUO can no longer access it and they transferred me to the Regional FAFSA Complaint Office. I am now awaiting to hear back as they are investigating.

As of May 27th I have DEMANDED they withdraw me. I wrote to every contact I had for them told them to withdraw me now.

This is illegal and now SUO says I have been withdrawn but they have not done so.

How professional is an email saying "consider this email as your proof we withdrew you" LOL ya real nice NO I want PROOF! They wont return phone calls or emails, but I have gotten called by them and hung up on as I answer it.

If you attend I will inform you to get out now before they screw you over, steal your identity, steal you student loans.

How did SUO get your FAFSA pin?

AUTHOR: Kristie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 01, 2011

I'm sorry to hear about your situation; however, I'm curious how in the world SUO got your FAFSA pin in the first place?  I started classes with SUO in January 2011.  I can tell you when I went through the enrollment process not once did anyone ask for me FAFSA pin number.  Of course, on the FAFSA site it states and you have to electronically sign an acknowledgement not to share your pin with anyone.

I will say that they seem to be experiencing some turn overs because my academic counselor has changed since I've enrolled and I have had a hard time getting a response from the new counselor that has been assigned to me.

Also, I know as a student that unless you "enter" into the online class through the school portal you are NOT charged.  Hopefully, you didn't get that far.  If this is the case, I don't think they have stolen your money but rather their lack of communication has left you to assume so.

What might be helpful is for you to go to the National Student Loan Data System.  Here is the link http://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/  You log into this website using your handy dandy FAFSA pin number.  Once you are logged in you can see all disbursements of student loans and where those funds were sent.  So, if South University On line received any of your funds you will definitely know for certain.  Somehow, considering the information you've given I don't think that is the case.  Also, keep in mind.  If money was dispersed they have 30 days to refund it back, which you will see occur through invoices or the website above.  I hope this helps.  Good luck.
