This organization and people involved, from Ashish Advani, the financial "guru" who heads up this newsletter and financial alert services are less than honest about their track records. This includes the Executive Director of The Sovereign Society, Erika Nolan, who promotes Ashish's "Big Game Hunting" or "Exotic FX" alert service. She has no shame in her wild claims to easy riches! They give FOREX trade recommendations, all on exotic currencies such as the Mexican Peso, South African Rand, Polish Zloty, Hungarian Forint, etc. Very volatile stuff.

They claim that their recommendations to buy/sell FOREX, foreign currencies, could have netted their subscribers over "$232,000 on 29 small trades". Further digging, they claim this is based upon putting $3,000 into each trade at 100 to one (1) leverage, which is not uncommon in Forex. When you receive their marketing propaganda and watch their video sales pitches it looks legit. Here's what they don't tell you!

Their false and fabricated investment returns include their first six (6) ALLEGED trades that no one actually received or traded, because it was only available to this mythical group of "beta testers" before the real paying subscribers joined. Well as "luck" would have it, they proclaim a perfect 6-0 record on these first 6 trades AVERAGING over 1,560% rate of return!!! Sure! (361%, 1,229%, 2997%, 2948%, 1509%, and 334%)...like this happened! So your hypothetical $3,000 per trade would have made you over $250,000 in a short couple of months! All hype...not true! I have been a subscriber of their services and painfully know first hand that their ACTUAL results are far less stellar. Now, here's what really happened when the paying subscribers got their first real-world trade recommendations.

According to their very own documentation, the Exotic FX Alert Portfolio dated 6/15/09, their next 17 Forex trade recommendations, went 5-11-1 on a win/loss record, with an AVERAGE LOSS of -112% PER TRADE! Your $3,000/trade would have cost you over $53,000 in losses in less than 6 months! BTW: this was all under the recommendations of Jack Crooks of Black Swan Capital, who ironically is no longer working for Sovereign Society and this financial news alert service...as he's now peddling his own currency recommendations for a mere $99/month. Trade-by-trade results on 17 trades: -603%, -153%, -385%, -222%, -508% (yes, 5 losers to start -$56,000 in the hole), +171%, +187%, +197%, +780% (suspicious here...but no other trade profited more than 397%, excluding their first 6 fictitious trades), 0%, -159%, +273%, -567%, -291%, -282%, -210%, and finally -14%.

Since Jack Crooks departure, Ashish Advani took over in April. To be fair, he has gone 5-3 with an average return of 35.8% per trade, which is good, but of course 8 trades is a very small sample size.

This organization has some good analysis and good articles, but their marketing tactics are despicable and unethical. Do you really believe that "by chance or luck" they actually averaged such high returns when there is no one to validate them other than planted beta testers? Then after us paying subscribers hop on board the results are terrible. I'm sure they will come back with a rebuttal saying that it was the economy pre-November crash, or something like this. However, all their marketing material sells currencies as a great investment vehicle in a down and volatile market. After all, currency trading is relative to another currency, as one currency is going up the other one is going down, relatively speaking.

I just want them to be honest with potential subscribers who are investing real money by paying Sovereign Society thousands of dollars per year in fees with the false expectations of impossible returns. Don't lose your nest egg on scammers! We've seen what guys like Bernie Madoff have done to thousands of families nationwide! Buyer beware!

FOREX and more ......

AUTHOR: Rodney - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, July 21, 2011

I had attempted on several occasions to gain access to charts which track the trade recommendations and the results of thos recommendations.  Until I made a formal request I recieved nothing but SS finally forwarded me a few excel spreadsheets that tracked a number of trades. The spreadsheets were very confusing and I still don't know what I am looking at.

Why doesn't SS track all trades and provide the ongoing results to the subscriber.

Something just isn't right with a company that won't keep their subsrcibers up to date with all recommendations - good or bad.

I too felt like I drew the short straw.

Response to Erika Nolan & Sovereign Society's Rebuttal

AUTHOR: J Galt - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 24, 2009

1) For the record, I did not cherry-pick the losers, I disclosed all picks, both winners and losers. Perhaps Ms. Nolan should reread my posting and compare to the actual figures they post online for subscribers. Again, my WARNING to all potential subscribers is still based on 100% facts, which is the real record for Exotic FX.

2) I have to laugh at the comment that these first 6 winning trades, which resulted in over $250,000 in "hypothetical profit", was reserved for their "highest level of PAID members, members of the Trader's Ring". I have been a member of the Trader's Ring for several years now, and I did NOT receive any one of these first 6 huge winning trade recommendations in "real time' as Ms. Nolan is claiming. This is just an outright lie! If Sovereign Society wants to claim these 6 trades that would have produced $250,000+ in profits, then all Trader's Ring members, like myself, should have received emails with Jack Crooks' analysis of each trade before he entered the position and when he closed the position. It simply did not happen!

3) My email records show Sovereign Society to start marketing Exotic FX in October, after this nice record was established. I read about every email from them. Their first webinar by Jack Crooks promoting this service was October 13th, 2008. Even during the marketing webinar, Jack claimed that as of 10/10 they had 4 open positions, all showing big gains. (How tough is it to claim that you told your elite "Trader's Ring beta-testers" to buy or sell short certain currency pairs weeks or months ago..thus showing these huge open position gains?)

4) TRUTH: the first real trade recommendations on this Exotic FX service came after the first 6 hypothetical winning trades were setup to show massive profits, with very little chance to turn into losing trades. This is my #1 complaint with marketing tactics like this. If not for these 1st 6 winning trades, there is no way Sovereign Society can market this service with such a whopping winning record!

5) From what I can ascertain and from my own personal tracking, Sovereign Society does keep an accurate record of all trades in their portfolio AFTER real people are tracking and trading it real time. However, padding the track record with hypothetical results or huge open-position winners before releasing the trading service to real traders and consumers is less than honorable.

Ms. Nolan and Sovereign Society, please start being honest with your members. Again, there are a lot of hard working, honest, and knowledgeable analysts working for Sovereign Society, or who at least attach their name to this organization. It's just too bad they have to resort to such marketing hypey claims, not founding on 100% truth.

Finally, here is one of their "hypey marketing emails" they sent back in October 2008. You decide if this reeks with gimmicks or not.

Dear Friend,
I am, above all else, a currency trader. I have been one all my adult life. I am very clear in my own mind about THIS (skill) and attribute much of my good fortune to it.
If you too are a trader, more specifically, if you consider yourself a Big Game Hunter then you'd better shove a chair up against the door, eliminate all distractions, and STUDY this (short) letter IMMEDIATELY.
It is easy to get lost in the sea of investment opportunities, strategies, and fadslost in the myriad of sophistication and complexity even lost in the paralyzing propaganda of the media but there is one investment and listen closely
Because in the last 71 days, using the (predictable) power of exotic currencies, 84 Big Game Hunters had the ability to turn $15,000 into more than $232,500 of pure profit.
Even those who only invested $1,000 per trade, well, they still had the ability to collect an annual salary of $46,500 (profit).
No, they didn't possess any special qualities that you do not, they weren't certifiable geniuses, nor did they come from money but they did have the courage to get in the game!
Today, at noon (EST), I'm holding a SPECIAL 53-minute Live' webinar specifically designed for Big Game Hunters! If you've never traded currencies before, this likely is not for you, but for the person interested in hunting financial MAMMOTHS well, you'd be a fool to miss it!
But you only have until 10:00am (tomorrow) to register OR when until all 173 (currently) available seats are gone!
Don't procrastinate because of our bandwidth constraints (dictated by our third-party video host) we can only accept roughly 2000 registrants and, at last check, 1827 of those seats were already filled.
This will be a REAL eye-opener for anyone who thought it was impossible to amass $232,500 of profit in just 71 days starting with a mere $15K. But as you'll see, these are documented gains, and very well could be yours!
Register Now, before you're locked out!
It's going to be FUN!

I also agree that in the marketplace there are many exaggerated and hypey claims out there. However, every claim made in all our promotions for Exotic FX is based strictly on the facts. Let me state those facts many of which agree with Mr. Galt. But let me also point out some very important facts he may not be aware of or simply didn't point out.

First of all, in the video, Ashish shows that we had 15 winners and 14 losers during the period he refers to. This is true. And this acknowledgment that nearly half the positions were losers is not typical of much of today's marketing. However, the point of trading is to grow the overall portfolio. And if you had done that by the criteria Mr. Galt points out, using 100-to-1 leverage (not uncommon in a spot market that allows up to 400-to-1 leverage), you would have indeed made over $225,000 in profits. That is after accounting for your losers as well. What's more, we always show the results of all trades to all members on our members-only website (as Mr. Galt will attest having been a subscriber) and when we do, we include losing positions as well showing the results using different levels of leverage: from no leverage to 10 to 1, to 50 to 1, to 100 to 1.

So we have been very meticulous and very open in the accounting of our track record. And we continue to be. To date, in fact, our track record (open and closed positions) is 18 winners and 14 losers. And had you invested $3,000 into each trade, at 100-to-1 leverage, you would be looking at just over $234,000 in gains. That, by the way, does not include the original $3,000 you would have put in each position. Those would represent pure gains.

Now, since these results are achieved with leverage (common for traders in the spot market), the winners can be very large and the losers can be large. Yet the net has been very good, as our track record shows. What's more, as Mr. Galt points out, since Ashish Advani took over Exotic FX back in April, his risk-management methods have helped reduce the magnitude of losers while still posting significant triple-digit winners.

Now, another point: there is no beta track record. The beta testers is a term used in our first promotion of the service to all our E letter readers. Prior to that, it first went out only to our highest level of PAID members, members of the Trader's Ring (as is only fair). This, in fact, is how we introduce all new trading services. So every recommendation in our track record is based on actual, live recommendationsboth BUY and SELL recommendationsto paid subscribers.

What's more, all prices in the track record reflect market prices in effect when the recommendations go out to subscribers. By the way, we also use the ask price (higher price) for our buy price and the bid price (lower price) for our sell price. That is far more realistic and conservative than marketing methods would suggest we do.

For instance, there is a very popular options service out there that does not issue Sell recommendations at all! Yet for their promotions, they use track record assuming the high price since their recommendation! So it's all winners, maximum winners at that and practically zero losers because it is completely unrealistic.

Yet we base our track record on live recommendations for Buying and Selling (closing) the position. And when there's a loss we post it to our track record for all our paid subscribers to see on the members-only website every last negative percent of it.

But now, let me make one thing very clear about the kind of trading recommendations made in Exotic FX. And this is a message we have been very explicit about in ALL our promotions: This is NOT for everyone. That is why we call it Big Game Hunting. In our promotions, we have at least three or four areas where we tell people why this may NOT be them. It's for people with a trader's mentality. In our original promotion, we even say it requires guts twice in the letter.

What's more, in our latest promotion, we actually list our FIVE BIGGEST LOSERS. And we list them at 100-to-1 leverage! I don't think you'll find the kind of hypey marketers Mr. Galt talks about doing this.

Now, it's true that when we market we put the best possible blush on the rose. But we always make sure IT IS A ROSE. And our Exotic FX service has actually performed superbly. But it's only for traders who understand there will be volatility on the way to striving for large overall portfolio gains. And we make that message clear in every promotion we write. It does us no good to bring on the wrong type of trader to the file. We have a 100% refund policy for the first 30 days and have always honored it without fail. After that it has always pro-rated and always without hassle. If Mr. Galt canceled, I think he'll attest to the fact that we live up to that scrupulously.

But there are people who subscribe who do not have a trader's mentality. We try to discourage them from joining by being very explicit in our marketing material about the type of trading this is and the type of trader it's right for. But when some people see the track record, they ignore the warnings of volatility and the requirements of a trader's tough mental attitude and join anyhow. That's fine. But if they catch some of the trades that go south (as we state will happen) and then ignore the winners or don't stick through with our game plan for overall portfolio growth, I don't think it's fair at that point to pretend the overall track record still isn't extremely good.

Again, we are explicit in all our promotions, that this is aggressive, strategic trading with ups and downs but overall extremely positive net results. For people who may be used to much less volatility, this is the wrong place to beeven though we have delivered outstanding gains overall.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion. We thank Mr. Galt for having said the few nice things he did about us that our organization has some good analysis and some good articles. I trust when he considers the trading experience in the light in which we have always portrayed it (as not for everyone), and when he looks at the overall total track record (and not just cherry-picking losers that's no more fair than cherry-picking winners), he'll see that we have made claims based on live track record to subscribersincluding both the buy and sell sides of each tradeand we've stood behind our guarantee 100%. And we have actually delivered superb overall results to our subscribers.

But we again appreciate Mr. Galt's comments and I hope he sees that this service, although not for everyone, is indeed delivering outstanding resultseven though it takes a trader's mentality to stay with it through the ups and downs and reap the net rewards.
