Phoning to get your free ticket, you will learn that a RT ticket costs $5000 miles, not 2500. They say "if you want you can buy the return flight!". hmmmm.
If you then manage to build up enough miles, and try again to get your free tickets, you will then be told that the off-peak flights are not available on your flight days. I have enough miles, myself to fly from Chicago to Lima Peru on the off-peak time. Except no off-peak flights are available. EVER. Not during the days i asked for, not in the days around those dates, not in the months before or after. NEVER. The woman on the phone encouraged me to buy the tickets instead. This is a clear case of Bate-and-switch... and I'm pretty sure it is illegal.
Can we do anything about this?! I just want to stop them!
