 In July 2013, we needed a warranty for our house.  I looked online, and all the websites were pretty equal - not a whole lot of detail.  I believe Stanley "Warranty" takes advantage of this - they create a site that looks about as informative as anyone else's.  I filled in the "SUBMIT for a Free Quote Now" page, and they called the next day.  After discussing some options - what to cover, different prices, etc., I bought a plan.  For you guys on month-to-month plans - you're better off because if you have a problem & realize Stanley "Warranty" is at best a joke, more likely an outright scam, you can cancel before many hundreds of $$$ is gone.  I bought their warranty because the price seemed reasonable for the items I chose to include.  In mid-November, we had a water heater fail.  Made an online request for service, and followed up by leaving a phone message the next day.  2 days after the phone call, got an email saying "we will get to your request soon".  Uh, this is a water heater!  On the day I left the phone message, I had a bad feeling about this, so I looked them up in the New Jersey Better Business Bureau website -  nearly 150 complaints in past 4 years.  Reading a few of those, they all sound about the same - basically Stanley "Warranty" is playing off the fact that most people won't call for warranty service at ALL, and those that do, they just put off endlessly until they give up.  So the same day I left the phone message I had a local plumber just do the job.  Here it is, 13 days since their email, 16 days since my request for service and NO further contact from them.  Really?  That's not a warranty, that's a flat rip off.
