I signed the contract over the phone on 08/12/12 and was told i will receive the contract within a week. Days passed, weeks passed and it was 30 days and i still receive the contract, so i couldn't read the terms. My credit card was charged the same day. Also i was told they will give me free Freon replacement.
After 30 days passed , i called ( this was my 3rd call after i signed up) and each time i will be turned over 4-5 times after which i get upset and request a supervisor and then someone appears to talk to me and let me know they are the supervisor and will take care of this and nothing happens.
So i decided to make use of it and i called in on 8/30.12 for warranty claim. Story is same, i get rolled on to different persons and i get excuses like the customer service person is sick, network is down, we are in big meeting so on.finally on 08/31/12 i was told they will process the claims for two different things and service contractor will call me to confirm the schedule . Nothing happened till 09/04. So i called on 09/04 and as normal, after being passed on to different
persons and excuses, i spoke to Elisa and was told she will cancel my account with $50 penalty. I agreed and when i asked for a confirmation or do i need to fax something, i was told nothing more to be done.
I doubted again so i called on 09/04/12 at 3:00 PM CST and after several persons , I asked for manager and Margaret comes on the call and then i get the excuse she cant hear me. After speaking for 10 minutes and agreeing to what i was telling although she states she cant hear me, she hangs up stating she will call me in 30 mins to process my cancelation.
I get a call after 10 mins , from Margaret stating They will charge me $50 and then a $90 for this 30 period i was with Stanley Warranty.
I am willing to throw away the $50 for charity ( glad to be out of this mess) but why should i pay another $90. Of course she also cant confirm anything in writing.
On 09/05 finally they confirmed that my account was canceled and i should see the credit on my credit card. On 09/07, i still didnt see the credit and when i call custoner service, they hang up when they hear refund. I called stats and they roll me back to front desk. Managers dont want to get involved. Jamie states she will send the proof that refund was processed but i didnt receive anything. Jamie hung up after that and later dont want to pick up the call. She was also rude and stated if i keep callingor talking about refund, she will hang up.
Can someone help me and tell me this is not run out of garage or is not a fraud establishment. I see Bad reviews on BBB.
