During the sales presentation, the timeshare service was explained very quickly by my sales rep, Ben Torres, but I was told that I had 48 hours to cancel my contract so even though I was in doubt of the quality of the service, the rep was very friendly and I knew that I could still cancel so I signed and spent the next day reading every document. When my reading of the documents uncovered questions and doubts about what the rep had explained to me, I immediately sent him an email with all of my concerns and questions. He responded via email that I had misunderstood the documents and that he had in fact explained the service correctly. Having no more time to get a second opinion since I only had 48 hours to cancel, I made the mistake of trusting the sales rep and I did not cancel my contract.

A couple months later, I attempted to make my first reservation and was immediately told that in order to get the reservation that I was requesting, I would either need to accrue 3 more years of points or else pay $800+. This is DIRECTLY contrary to what the sales rep explained to me both in person and IN WRITING and I am incredibly angry (although not too shocked) that he misrepresented the product so blatantly and even more angry that I fell for it.

I was also told during the presentation that I would receive a "free" trip to Hawaii if I signed and this honestly is the one thing that made me go through with the deal but it was brought to my attention AFTER I spent time jumping through multiple hoops to receive my "free" Hawaii trip that Starpoint's version of "free" means that I first need to PURCHASE two plane tickets to California in order to use my flight vouchers from CA to Honolulu. Knowing that I live in New York City, this seems like yet another incredibly blatant lie by the company in order to bribe me into signing a false contract.

I have now spent 3 months contacting Starpoint's customer service and the response has been dismal. They will make a small attempt at resolution on the phone ("we'll give you 5000 free points") but then will not return my calls and messages for weeks when it comes time to deliver. At the moment, I have been leaving a message for Erin Anderson multiple times a day for over 3 weeks and have heard NOTHING from her even though she told me on April 24 that a resolution would be coming to me in the mail within 3-4 days. A company that operates under such unprofessional and dishonest business practices does not deserve to stay in business. I feel sorry for all of the people who have fallen for these schemes, including myself.
