In January 2012, I paid Kris Massaro, Owner of Starting Line Fitness $600 (in advance) for 12 personal training sessions. I had 1 free session and then paid $600 for 12 more. During my second training session I was injured and had to take 6 weeks off for my injury to heal. Shortly aferwards I became seriously ill and surgery followed. Upon returning to Starting Line Fitness (in Tustin CA), I was shocked to see another company inhabiting the premises. When I asked what happened to Starting Line Fitness, I was told that they had moved in Sept. 2012. Kris Massaro never tried to contact me or let me know that she was moving and opening shop in Leawood KS (I found her on FB).
I found Starting Line Fitness (Kris Massaro) on FaceBook and sent her a private message. She agreed to reimburse me the remaining $500 which was due to me since I only used 1 paid training session. I had to continuously email Kris Massaro to get any form of payment whatsoever. Finally in May of 2013 I received a check for $100 with the promise to make monthly payments of $100 until repaid in full. To date, 9/17/2013 I have not received any further repayment. I have emailed Kris Massaro more than a dozen times requesting payment, each time with her promising to put a "check in the mail today". Again, a check never comes and I am still owed $400.
Kris Massaro is also the Co-Owner of The Diamond Softball Academy in Olathe, KS. I have been extremely patient and understanding with Kris Massaro, but at this time feel that she has no intentions of ever repaying me my money. Kris Massaro posted her mission statement for Starting Line Fitness on FaceBook and it reads in part:
"Extraordinary customer service: personal, honest and caring service; giving extra to every customer as a standard operating procedure. Starting Line believes that they must "earn" every dollar that a customer invests in a fitness program".
Starting Line Fitness did not "earn" every dollar of my money as they state in their mission statement. This is my last resort at getting Kris Massaro to do the right thing, the "honest" thing and repay me the remaining $400 owed.
