Our client purchased a dedicated server from SteadFast Networks. Everything seemed fine with them and our client purchased another server from Steadfast Networks. The second server was defective and Steadfast Networks failed to properly address the issue. The technical support department did a good job with what they could and it was discovered that the server was simply provided defective. Canceled the server with the company only a few days after it was ordered.

Company canceled the server and refuses to give refund, no refund, no service, sounds like FRAUD TO ME. My client also had another server with this company, he alerted them that he would also be terminating business on that server at the end of the pre-paid date. Company decided to revoke access to the server, no refund, no service, sounds like FRAUD TO ME. Charges will be brought about said company on Monday for two counts of consumer fraud. Watch out for these guys

That took long enough to dispute now didn't it? The chargeback was a valid request; otherwise the bank wouldn't of honored it. You are aware that mastercard and visa both acknowledge that non-tangible goods place any doubt back on the provider of service. You had an unhappy customer and instead of washing your hands with them and giving them a refund you opted to "stand behind your terms of service" and keep the money. How'd that work out for ya?

The customer in question brought a drive error to our attention, to which we responded within 15 minutes.  We needed access to his server to check the BIOS settings and run some tests, but this access was denied by the customer.  The next day, there was a catastrophic drive failure.  While the server was relatively new, drive failures can and do happen at any time, which is why we recommend RAID configurations for any high availability needs.  The reason action was not taken was because the customer refused to allow us to take action, we cannot replace a drive without customer approval, and the server was not provided as defective, as the server had been up for over a week without a single disk error until this incident.  After the incident, we were able to copy the customer data to a new, fully functional drive, with little to no data loss.

The customer used service, which was delivered as expected, and prompt support service was issued.  A service credit was offered, but refused.  The customer then filed a chargeback within 20 minutes of their refund request, while the issue was still being actively discussed.  Once the chargeback was issued, they were in violation of the terms of service and all service was suspended.

Our service is clearly not fraud, we have thousands of happy customers, and we worked with this customer on resolving their issues, offered an account credit, and were working with them on a solution when they just filed a chargeback.  We do not take chargebacks lightly, and when the customer elects to take such action, there is little we can do from that point.  To note, no charges were ever filed.
