The Sterling Hotel has tons of problems. The wifi, cable TV, etc are all having constant problems. The rooms have plumbing issues leading to mold, constantly A/C problems, the pool constantly is out of order, and lots theft and car breakins. Their security cameras have NOT been hooked up the last 3 years! The new manager, Tony Saporito, blows off complaints like the constant theft by housekeeping, many have gone to him and have moved out over the frustration of being blown off!

I have spoken with 4 of them recently so if management would have acted on the thefts in the beginning, I wouldn't have gone throw this nightmare. It didn't seem to matter that I was a returning Extended Stay that had been with them for over 5 months. The independent owner said he'd handle it over 2 weeks ago but still nothing! I should have chosen a hotel chain with a corporate supervising it.

Most hotels have insurance or would polygraph their housekeeping with this amount of complaints but nope! Court is the only option you will have after dealing with this hotel! I am filing for several hundreds of dollars after trying to get a resolution for over 4 weeks. This hassle is absolutely ridiculous!.

This hotel room rents monthly for $499 to $699 a month! Lots of people here are in transition. -No refunds once you have paid for the month.

 The problem with a theft complaint is that there is NO PROOF!!!!! You SAY that they are stealing from you, but you need to have solid proof of theft. I would suggest that you get a nanny cam or hidden camera of some sort and set up your own "sting". This way you will have proof of theft and all of your previous complaints will now have merit. Until you can furnish them with irrefutable proof of housekeepings theft they will keep blowing you off. The main reason is the american consumer is so cheap and lazy that they will lie about a incident just to get something for nothing.

Of times in a hotel situation, "theft" just means they did not remember putting a object someplace and cant find it then claim someone robbed them. Sometimes it is theft but most times they have to settle with a customer with no proof other then the customers word that something was stolen. See the problem...A customer can SAY anything was stolen, even when NOTHING was taken. SO go to them with proof and then take that proof to the police AND the media. Im 100% sure that even if they are a franchise, that franchise will be pulled from them for unethical acts. And the media would just eat a local story like this up.

Also, dont let managment know that you are doing this sting. I would also suggest that you get a few more ppl in on this. Talk with others and find a few you can trust to keep thier traps closed. You can find MANY items that will help you with this. Check out radioshack they have a good selection of "nanny" equipment in thier online store. You can probably get back the value of your items plus a little extra for your trouble by just submitting good evidence.
