I've been going here for a couple of years for a quick wash (even though they do a crappy job). so far I've had my truck scratched, Metal valve stems stolen, a small scratch on back window (1/2"), vinyl lettering power-washed off (when I told them NOT to power-wash the lettering) and usually they don't get all of the dirt off.

17 days after I got new ceramic tint installed, I took it in for a wash and told them "Do Not Touch The Inside Windows Because of New Tint".

When I looked up, I was 3 Mexicans wiping down the inside windows with dirty towels!
I noticed that my newly tinted windshield was destroyed by scratches and scratches also on the passenger window.

I filed an incident report and the manager & workers all gathered around saying 'no on touched the windows (even though I saw them AND the inside windows were now clean of dust???

Nobody contacted me as promised so I had to track down the regional manager "Stacy" (in arroyo grande).

She stood up for the employees and called me a liar when I said that I saw the employees cleaning the inside windshield. She said that she'll get me a credit for a free car was, BUT she said that the employees at the car wash did NOT clean the inside windows (she wasn't even there...WTF!

She stated that Sunset North would NOT take responsibility for their employees damaging my ceramic tint.
When I asked for their insurance company name & phone number, she refused to give it to me.

The Regional Manager (Stacy) is as much to blame as the employees.

The experts that installed the special tint said that it was wiped with something abrasive such as dirt particles in the towel or scratched with a ring.

I always see the lying Mexicans at Sunset North Dropping the towels then using it to clean peoples cars.

Cost to remove the damaged tint & replace: $394.00
Plus, a missed day of work: $300.00 (minimum) to $650.00

Sunset North has many complaints on Yelp, Even cracking another customers windshiel (twice).

Stealing metal stem covers from tires? Not admitting that you damaged a vehicle?
Nothing but a bunch of lying, thieving Mexicans..... typical of that culture!

Someone asked Why I kept going back?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, August 14, 2014

The previous damages were spread out over a couple of years & were repaired for free by friends in the auto industry.

I did quit going to Sunset North car wash for a while, Then I saw new employees there and figured things might have changed.

Everything was good for 6 months (about 10 washes), untill they scratched my tint.

I don't mind the crappy wash jobs (it is a work truck), but the regional manager basically called me a liar when I said that I saw then wiping the inside windaows 7 destroying the new tint.... Shows what kind of lying person she is.

Someone asked: Why I Kept going there?

The incidents (powerwashing vinal lettering off my vehicle, scratches, etc) were spread over a couple of years.

After each time, I did stop going there for a while. But, I'm too busy with work to clean it myself and started going there again when I see new employees (for a quicky-wash).

I replaced the vinyl letters for free (just took a little of my time). the small scratch? well, it's a work truck.

The stolen valve stem covers are cheap and I would have given them a pack if they asked.

But after this, I'll never go to any Sunset North facilities again... especially afyter seeing all the complaints that they have on Yelp, etc.

I filed a claim against them with my insurance company.

I guess after reading this my obvious question would be, After all of this:

"I've been going here for a couple of years for a quick wash (even though they do a crappy job). so far I've had my truck scratched, Metal valve stems stolen, a small scratch on back window (1/2"), vinyl lettering power-washed off (when I told them NOT to power-wash the lettering) and usually they don't get all of the dirt off."

Why would you still keep going to the same location? For years? Knowing what you already stated you should not be surprised. However, That doesn't give them the right. So if it's important to you. I would file a police report and obtain a copy of the surveillance video for that day and time of the incident. If they indeed washed it, It shall be easy to be credited the damages in small claims court.
