Super Mario Drywall LLC Mario and Angela Garcia Condescending, Unprofessional, Unreliable, Refused to complete work despite being paid Albuquerque New Mexico

We hired Mario to install drywall and baseboards in a playhouse we built from a kit on December  5th, 2015.
We paid half of the $1300 quote upfront and were told it would take 2-3 days. There was a hiccup requiring 2-3 hours of added framing in the beginning, which we supplied the materials for and offered to pay for immediately. Mario declined any additional payment, then asked to be paid the remainder of the original balance in advance, due to his family encountering unexpected financial needs. We reluctantly obliged.

Mario consistently showed up later than promised (never before noon) and some days did not show up at all. As a result, he did not finish installing the walls until December 19th.

On January 4th, I texted Angela to arrange for the baseboards to be installed in the job finally completed. After struggling to get something scheduled, they agreed to come out by 12pm on Saturday, January 17th. I asked him to please be on time because we had plans to take my daughters to a birthday party that afternoon. He assured me that he would.

Mario texted me on Sunday at 11:46am to say that he would come over after church, about 1pm. I reminded him that we had agreed on noon and had specified that it would be fine for him to do the work on Sunday, but the timing was important.

Mario then became condescending, said he would rather deal with my husband, accused me of owing him $200+ for the framing work, and refused to finish the job, stating that "we were even".

I am a disabled veteran, stay-at-home mother of two and my husband is currently active duty and works all the time. As a result, I am the person that handles the majority of the domestic requirements.

We hired Super Mario drywall based on my suggestion because we had a positive experience one year prior with work they did in our garage. I am not an unreasonable person... I expect for commitments to be honored, promises to be fulfilled, and for people to treat each other with a modicum of respect. I did not experience this with Super Mario Drywall.
